Guest guest
Hi, My son, on top of everything else it seems, probably has hypoglycemia. Our DAN suggested chromium, yet it seems every time I give it to him he becomes hyperactive. I gather this is rather unusual. Anyone have any ideas why? Thanks, Debbie
Guest guest
Debby- He probably has an allergy to chromium or he is allergic to a binder, a filler or the cap or pill coating. Pat O.
Guest guest
How do you give the chromium - pill, powder, liquid. Just curious. There were a few posts a couple month about how chromium may help with phenol issues. Most of the tablets and meds I have do have a coloring/coating added to it. Also my older son have reacted to three supplements (not meds) for some reason I cannot pinpoint. Changing brands fixed this. .

A different chromium I used about six months ago didn't cause hyperactivity. This type was Aspartic-chromium, whatever that means. But I stopped using that at the advice of my DAN because it wasn't gfcf. I hadn't given him any chromium at all until the last few weeks. Maybe I'll try the older type again. Guest guest
chhromium picolinate will cause hyperactivity. this form of chromium should be banned, its really part med and also damages dna. the other forms seem to be ok, i know someone who has had good results with GTF chromium, it is in inactivated yeast and seems to be ok. bascially it facilitates insulin movement across cells, so i think it could go either way with hyperactivity but tis usually short in the modern diet anyway. the trouble is that there is a cluster of essential trace minerals important to sugar metabolism that people get only really from offal like liver, chromium helps and is amajor component but tis not the whole answer. it gives me hyper focus. > Hi, > > My son, on top of everything else it seems, probably has hypoglycemia. Guest guest
looking on the web at the douglas labs one, its a polynicotinate form and a heap of it. i don't think its a true gtf form. true GTF which is grown in a yeast that is then deactivated is quite a mellow form of chromium, i take 50 mcg occasionally, you really need to cut right back, maybe an eight of a tablet for your child. i think the polynicotinate form is ok. proably just more agressive. the dougals labs tablets are 200mcg. but i can't see any problems with asparte chromium either, its just some-one i know who takes the true gtf form has had good results with it. > In a message dated 9/9/01 8:30:07 PM EST, osip7315@y... writes: > > << what form of chromium is it? chromium picolinate? chromium GTF that > sort of thing. > chromium picolinate is trouble. >> > > It is chromium GTF 200, made by Lab.
