Safety of eating food with enzymes added earlier in the day?

Sorry for so many questions today! We've just been on enzymes a couple of days

now.

This afternoon we were out shopping, and had lunch out. I had brought my son a

small amount of cashew butter, and some crackers, and the unopened capsules of

enzymes. I mixed the capsules (both kinds) into the cashew butter, and let him

eat it on a cracker. There was a tiny bit left in the bowl. An hour or so

later, he wanted to eat the last bit of cashew butter --but I was concerned

since it had a small amount of enzymes mixed in it. Was it still safe to eat?

Would the food have been partially digested by then, and would that make a

difference one way or the other?

Thanks!

There shouldn't be a problem, and it doesn't matter whether the

enzymes break down the food outside the body or after it has been

eaten, the same reaction occurs. sometimes protein breakdown will

change the taste of a food, usually giving it a bitter flavor, but

nothing harmful would occur. If you are wondering if the enzyme was

still active after an hour in the butter, I'm quite sure it was still

very active.
