Guest guest
, My gut has real problems with the Whey powder too. So much so, that I discontinued use of it. I'm thinking of trying CFS Nutrition's " Defense Formula " to raise my Glutathione level (see http://www.cfsn.com/defense.html) and their " Replenish Formula " (http://www.cfsn.com/replenish.html) to support antioxidation. I read a transcript of one of Dr. Cheney's speeches, where he said that raising Glutathione levels is really hard, and that Whey powder was the only thing they found that did the job. However, I wrote Jeff at CFS Nutrition about this claim, and he wrote back: " [Dr. Cheney people] haven't tried our Glutathione Precursors product [Defense Formula]. The literature is extremely clear that NAC raises glutathione. In practice there is a limit to taking this amino acid alone however. So maybe that is what they are implying. We've found the blend of NAC along with the other two amino acids that form glutathione do not produce the same side effects as does taking too much NAC in isolation. Gram for gram, dollar for dollar our amino acid blend is going to yield you more glutathione. At most 1% of the whey has glutathione precursors in it, so you have to take at least 100 times the amount as of the amino acids. " I would be very curious if anyone on this list has experience with " Defense Formula " and " Replenish Formula. " - don > <PRE> ANybody using an easy brand on the stomach of Aminos which convert to Glutathione? Which brand? And are shots necessary , if your gut is ripped up? also, anyone try high dose Glutathione = like 900-1,400 mg. twice a week. Since it doesnt last in the blood that long, what would be the SHOTS advantage for longterm effects? short=term, it clears my head & helps me walk staright. Guest guest
, Taking one of the undenatured whey protein products, such as ImmunePro Rx, together with a high-potency general nutritional supplement, such as Sparx (www.krysalis-sparx.com) is a good way to build glutathione, so long as you don't have an allergy to whey protein. Guest guest
, Is it possible that you have a large body burden of mercury or another heavy metal? Mercury is known to block the enzymes that make glutathione from amino acids, such as those in whey protein. Also, are you getting the essential vitamins and minerals together with the whey protein? These are necessary as cofactors for making glutathione.
