Guest guest
Doris, I just found this in my draft file! Sorry for the delay. You may already have all the info you need, but just in case: For me Cheney prescribed: 1.5 cc's Taurine, IM, HS (bedtime), 50 mg/cc My pharmacy compounds it in a 30 ml vial for $24. I think they also do it in 50 ml vials. 1/2 cc Magnesium Sulfate 50% solution, IM, HS, It is not compounded and comes in different forms, depending on what's in stock: 30 ml, 50 ml, or a box of tiny 2 ml vials. I use a 3 cc, 25 gauge syringe, 1 1/2 in needle. The magnesium is drawn in first, then the taurine. (Two vials, one syringe.) This allows the taurine to enter the body first, which reduces the caustic effect of the magnesium and greatly increases the amount of magnesium that actually gets into the cells. Cheney said the Taurine can triple the effectiveness of the magnesium, which is why the amount of mag can be lowered when it's done in combo with the taurine. And for most it makes the injection virtually painless. Cheney said that he usually has patients start with daily injections for one month, then go to twice weekly along with oral caps for one month, then go to oral alone. Then has patients choose which they prefer. I think he said 70% prefer the injections! Cheney does have a sublingual form of magnesium that he recommends also, especially for kids/young people, or those who just can't do injections. It's called Ionic Magnesium, made by Vinco, comes in a 2 oz spray bottle. I ordered it from the Cheney Clinic, which patients can do. There's no phone number or website on the bottle, so I don't have info on how to order it if you're not a Cheney patient. Maybe someone can run that down and share the info. (If you're wondering why I ordered sublingual magnesium when I also do the shots, it's because of the bovine growth factors. They involved 4 IM injections on one day - every fifth day. They were much easier to do if I didn't do the mag/taurine injections in the same area the day before, day of, and day after. That's when I needed the sublingual spray.) Take care. Carol S.
