Guest guest
Hi All (Sorry its long!) Sorry about the slip up in sending before I completed my mail ! As I said before, Sam is 4.5 47XYY and Autism. We have now been on the enzymes 7 weeks after being CFGFYFLS for a total of 12 months but I'd say 8 of those were 'clean'. We have heavy metal toxicity, parasites, yeasts, no words but great non verbal communication. Improved+ on CF, never sure of GF, YFLS caused biggest leap. I've been hesitant to report back (due to my own confusion) and disappointed that I wasn't getting the super results some of you had had. But I spent a long time thinking and realised all the progress that had been made, even though we still have no words and stimming ++. We challenged the diet almost immediately with casein and he went batty. Laughing hysterically and pinging off the walls - reviewed and of course that challenge included mega amounts of sugar and some other nasties. Anyways, to make a long story a micron shorter, we have been off diet CFGFYF and maintaining very reduced sugar (but more than before) and we have not seen any regression. We went straight in with 1 Pep and 1 Zyme in juice per infraction, then one of each in every cup of juice (from 5 - 10 cups per day). He did seem extra hyper and magnesium didn't help. But explanations from & Dana stopped me worrying about that. More confident of enzymes ability to do their job I reduced to ½ cap of each per cup. We maintain this dose to date. If I try to add to food his top lip gets very dry and sore, obviously not washing it all away. So to the benefits - increased receptive language, new interest in PECS now he finally has some food worth requesting!, bowels maintained dark, soft brown formed stools (first couple of days loose), first real interest in siblings as play things - following them in garden and trying to join in when they are running about, lots of spontaneous hugs for Tom (6) and even PECS requests to Joe (5). Enjoying Dads company, initiating rough play and affection with him (main carer for holidays 3 weeks now), his affection for me has also improved and somehow seems more real, a hug is one thing, a hug with little hands squeezing your neck and the laying of head on shoulder is another!! His mischief has also stepped another gear - amazing problem solving skills, he definitely has theory of mind. We added secretin drops for the second time 2 weeks ago, last trial (1 yr ago) no improvements, and now we have so many more sounds!!! He's blowing, swoosh noises, making the sound 'b' and it almost feels like he's practising using his mouth, I'm apprehensive of going over the top but very excited. I'll stop, glad to share Mandi in UK
