My kids were gfcf for 18 months, along with many other food removals. I started HNI enzymes and saw great improvement. I re-introduced gluten and two weeks later saw regression. It appears my kids are celiac, and they cannot have gluten even with enzymes. They also have several food allergies which the enzymes do not help, so I have not re-introduced those foods. But since I removed the gluten again, and found the other foods my kids do not tolerate even with enzymes, they are back to being so much improved with use of these enzymes. You can read my kids story in the files section to the left here on the site, under " success stories " . So I would say if you see regression in your child after a while, you may still need to remove foods, and your child may actually react to the enzymes because I know some children who do, but I would definitely say you should try the enzymes and see if they do help your child. Guest guest
We have been seeing some ups and downs over the last 4 months since we started the enzymes; I was beginning to wonder if that wasn't what was causing it...a regression in the enzyme tolerance. But then almost as suddenly as the bad stuff came, it went! Three days ago, he returned to his normal self....(as best as I can describe). And in that time nothing new happened. So I chalk it up to any or all of the above: resettling down to school starting (over a week ago), happiness that school and friends are back in his life (even though he doesn't verbalize it), weather change (we're changing to autumn now and there's lots of ragweed in the air), restarting some daily neurodevelopmental exercises that got suspended (partly an experiment on my part and partly life struggles)... I think there is always SOOOO much going on in them and their ability to adjust to all of that is so low. I just ride it out, keep doing what I know is the right thing for him, and pray! Lynn K. Guest guest
We started our son on enzymes back at the beginning of the summer, still on them now and numerous diets. He's continued to make huge gains after 3 months. School started here 4 weeks ago and his teachers are just raving about him. He was on PECS at the end of the year with lots of sporadic single words. Now he's up to 9 word sentences and every week they up his inclusion time in normal classrooms. In a month at this rate, he'll be in there all day. My daughter is a different story (twins). She's responded in a positive way to enzymes but has some other issues going on that we're still trying to get a handle on. She's also not been on them for nearly as long and we've had to stop and stop a lot due to medical tests that enzymes might interfere with the results. It has stopped the diarrhea and constipation though. We start chelation on both of them next weekend so things should get interesting.
