Guest guest
This is a tough one. I don't know a lot about adrenals, you might be on to something there. Are you getting enough sleep? I think about myself through all my phases of illness, and sometimes people could take one look at me and know I was sick, at least very tired, and getting poor sleep or having bad flu like symptoms could sometimes make me feel like I was walking and thinking in slow motion. But not constantly, and I wouldn't ever describe what I had as zombie like. Any chance I had to jump out and grab some of life, I would take. Certainly a " fight or flight " would perk me up for a while. So I would consider sleep disorders too. Maybe you have sleep apnea or for some reason aren't getting the right kind of sleep. The only person I knew that was like what you have described was my sister who was schizophrenic, and that was from all the medications she took. You aren't taking many medications, so that doesn't make sense for you. But it was a very sad thing to watch, so I hope you keep looking for things to try, so you can find what is causing it. Doris feeling dead inside Hi, I havent posted in a while but here is whats going on.....I've made some real progress in the last 2 years with supplements (much of it standard process) and diet and detox. I'm cashiering 25 hours a week; and my stamina and brainfog and fibro is somewhat better. Only med is 0.5mg of klonopin. What is so frustrating is that feeling of being dead inside. I feel like a walking zombie; its been like this for about 4 years and is an absolutely horrid symptom; feels like I'm on a major sedative each day....makes intimacy with family, friends, girlfriends, just about impossible; anybody who is observant can see the deadness in my eyes. If I'm confronted with a ticked off costumer at work there is a pathetic adrenal response....I end up feeling a bit wasted and dreamy and like my fight/flight response is malfunctioning My question is, does anyone else experience this? When I go to support group meetings I dont notice it so much in other people; but then its hard to tell. My next question is what are the possible causes of it? The main suspect I am thinking of is adrenal burnout. I ordered Chronic Fatigue Unmasked 2000 and may give that a try. I've tried natural thyroid and that didnt help. I've tried adrenal support supplements which have only helped a little. My next step is to get a full lyme work up; since I've read that chronic infections can badly stress the adrenals. Medications dont help the burnout feeling so my only hope is for uncovering the physical causes. TIA for any responses & best of luck to everyone in your treatments. Guest guest
Hi , I think I can imagine what you are talking about. I have always been hypersensitive to sedative meds and it felt similar - I didn't " feel " anything (if I was able to wake up) and it fast lead to a depression in my case. I have also tried klonopin and couldn't stand the regular dose so my dr gave me drops (1 drop = 0.1). Two drops at night were great for sleep. I was never able to introduce it in the morning. Did you felt like that before you started klonopin? I think balancing your endocrinne system is a good idea. Hormonal dysbalance can affect one's mood and feelings, as far as I know. I was recently looking for a supp that would help it (my endo dr treats my test results, not me :-( ) and started peruan hebs Maca and chanca piedra at the end of December. It is too soon to make conclusions but even in this short time some of my symptoms have improved. I have more energy again, higher body temperature, less menstrual pain, almost no blood sugar CFS - at least in my case), swelling of my face is gone (I had this for a very long time and it was gone in three days). If you wish to know more abut the herbs look at www.wholeworldbotanicals.com - I do not use their products but this site is a good source of info. Guest guest
You may find that this is a cortisol issue - adrenal response is poisonous - Cortisol is produced to counteract this. If you don't get the cortisol then the adrenal courses around exhausting you (laymen interpretation) - I have this issue and it is Mercury that is the cause - way up the endocrine system Re: feeling dead inside This is a tough one. Guest guest
Hi , I am sure I will be roundly criticized by some people on this list for even suggesting it, but feeling dead inside is a classic sign of depression and should be taken seriously. It's possible that it is caused by the klonopin but unlikely that .5 mg would have that effect, as I understand it. We have reason to be depressed. I know I do. This illness has just about ruined my life; it has certainly ruined any chance for having the life I wanted. I'm glad you're well enough to work part-time, I do too, and it helps. But this dead feeling may be depression and may be treatable. That doesn't make this disease any less real. I think you said you are in LA If so you're lucky, in that there are many good psychiatrists there you could go to for an assessment, which is that I suggest you do. Too many people with CFIDS and other chronic illnesses have committed suicide because they had no hope when maybe it might have been prevented. I'm unlucky in that the antidepressants have so many side effects that I can't take them but it may work much better for you and is worth a try. Best of luck Bonnie
Guest guest
dear , I can't surmise much about the cause of your deadness, but I can say what it was that went a long ways toward fixing mine. First though, I do agree that it could be too much of the Klon. And that would be really easy to experiment with. My circumstances are different than yours; much too sick to work. For me the brain fog and the emptiness went together. When I started on b12 injections, my mind returned and also my feelings. As someone said, that emtiness is a symptom of depression, but I wonder if one symptom is enough to call it that. I sure wouldn't lightly trot off to some shrink! I use dl-phenylalanine (in very small doses),and St 's Wort both, to help me with my moods. Hope this helps, Adrienne

You might want to try Biomax, it's a sublingual ACE(adrenal cortical extract)that helps me a lot, at least for a few hours. Flax oil capsules are also helping me with IBS & brain fog. These are my 2 best treatments at this time. B12 sublingual & whey protein are also helpful. Al
Guest guest
Al, Is this Biomax a liquid or tablet? Does it have peppermint or alcohol (if liquid)? I don't tolerate either, but really need something. Also, where do you get it? Thanks, Donna in NC Re: feeling dead inside > Hi , > I know the feeling.
