Guest guest
, Though burning sensation when urinating has always, with me, accompanied a verified urinary tract infection, burning can occur without infection. Aside from pyridium (the dye that numbs the urethra--but not an innoncent drug as was told me for lots of years) I don't know the remedy except drinking lots of water. There's a very excellent urologist in Phila who has helped many women with this problem (her last name is Whitmore) and in fact her partner was my urologist when I developed that horrid kidney stone. Their practice is self-referred to not as urology but something like " pelvic floor " pathologies and they have docs in their group that deal with all the organs/structures " la bas, " from rectum to vagina to urethra, because pathology (in woman I assume more than in men), or at least symptoms, in one of those structures are both hard to distinguish/specify to the structure (you can feel pressure but not really be able to tell if it's urinary or vaginal or rectal at times, and also I think (don't know) that some pathologies doe affect all three. I am impressed with that concept, breaking away from traditional medical categories and thinking more of the way humans experience pathology and are built. Cranberry fruit capsules I'm NEVER without. Nature's Way I've been told is the most reliable re dosage brand. I carry them with me. In some seltzer they make a good drink, actually, and I do think keeping the urine acidic is wise. But the burning without infections is apparently a problem. Is interstitial cystitis a condition of which that's a symptom? I.e., not infectious inflammation. I don't know how they treat it but maybe the diagnostic term could help you find out. Judith Wisdom (not a physician, if it isn't quite obvious!) I've seen various urologists and some of the things that helped me were/are: taking cranberry pills or drinking unsweetened juice when I have an infection; homeopathic remedies (you should see a certified classical homeopath to determine which is best for you); taking macrobid after sex, and urinating before and after intercourse; and taking septra daily over a period of a year. This last helped the most but it also created a huge candida problem! it is a tough balancing act. I think homeopathy has helped me the most but I still have burning urine nearly every day. Four rounds of different antibiotics and now worried about a return of intestinal candida so I am back on the anti-yeast diet. Has anyone found something that helps with these recurring infections? Is it due to a weakened immune system? Thanks, Pattie in GA > I tried d-mannose from this company for my constant > bladdey and kidney infections.
