[Permission to forward] CNN.com - " Chronic fatigue syndrome more than being tired " 12/25/01 The response we have received to this article has been very favorable. Actually for once the title of the article says it all and reflects the message of the text. Kim Kenney did a nice job and the CAA's survey really illustrated the point beautifully. They as well should be thanked for their contribution. Accurate portrayals of the illness in the media are long overdo. The statistics provided at the CNN site are quite impressive. The article and stats are located at: http://edition.cnn.com/2001/HEALTH/conditions/12/24/chronic.fatigue/index.html [Do remember to VISIT THE LINK AND THEN FORWARD IT TO OTHERS RATHER THAN JUST FORWARDING THE STORY. For CNN's stats, people must visit and hit the link directly.] What is significant is that the CNN site is a very popular, major national site. One week later, this article still remains #2 " most popular, " # 2 " most e-mailed " and # 1 " most saved " article FOR THE WEEK on the ENTIRE site - NOT just the HEALTH section. This certainly indicates tremendous public interest in CFS. This alone speaks volumes regarding the magnitude and scope of this illness. The overwhelming popularity of this topic should help insure and encourage further coverage of CFS in the future.
