Guest guest
I wanted to add something to this that might be useful - I was having constant UTIs, excruciatingly painful, and constant burning urine. Nothing helped at all. Finally my doctor realized that it could be the doxepin I was taking - doxepin, and other tricyclic antidepressants (and various other medications as well) - make you retain small amounts of urine in your bladder. The bladder does not empty out completely, thus really encouraging the overgrowth of bacteria, yeast, etc. It was such a simple solution but I stopped the doxepin and the infections went away almost immediately, after years of problems. So you might want to examine the meds you are taking and see if any of them do cause urinary retention. Peggy
