younger appearance of PWC's(growing pains)

Re Steve Bullock's post concerning growing pains. I recall that around

age 10 complaining often to my mother than my legs hurt, and I remember

saying that the pain was a " drawing " pain. This often occurred

interestingly on our subway rides home after one of my mother's all day

trips shopping, where we'd walk blocks and blocks and blocks and I'd have

to try things on , etc., etc. The old good part of which was a special

restaurant that I adored.

I do think that there's some early, maybe genetic, maybe illness induced,

maybe medication induced prelude to this illness, but until good epi

research is done we shan't know the extent of its role and whether more

or less prominent in certain subsets. It's so awful that we are deprived

of that vital info.

I am also relatively sure that my mother had fibromyalgia, which of

course wasn't diagnosed as such. Lots of info supporting that.

And most of her sisters had either RA, severe migraines, and

who-knows-what that resulted in extreme pain.

I was a healthy kid. Full of vim and vigor and the pains never stopped

me. Similarly with most of my life till I got sick with this disease.

I did have some allergies, and some of the literature suggests a high

rate (clinically supported, not via epi studies) of atopy pre this

illness. I suppose that suggests immune problems.

My brother had severe exzema. And I mean SEVERE. I had several less

severe episodes, but it didn't go past age l7, though the last episode

was horrific. And I had " hay fever " and a cat allergy.
