This is tough one to figure. I had always been leery of daily

consumption Apple Cider Vinegar after reading so many conflicting

viewpoints, but decided to forego my fears & try it after reading up

on several sites that emphasized its antiviral/antifungal powers.

Some people and practitioners feel confident in the benefits of ACV

and are those who believe it is one of the big myths that because it

is a fermented food it must be altogether avoided. Others have

reported to of violent reactions when using even the slightest amount

of ACV.

I started using 2 tbsp 3 x's a day for the last few days between and

with meals. I have been noticing an increase in oderiferous gas,

headache, and loose stools. It is impossible to know whether this

could be a pH adjustment, some type of die-off, or simply a

sensitivity to the yeast or molds natural to the product. I did more

research and now I am thoroughly confused.

The following are some excerpts I've taken from various sites that

now have me stumped because I have never heard of ACV being this

allegedly " detrimental " . Again, we have another controversy on our

hands:

THE CONS:

From: http://www.ascension2000.com/nonos.html

Vinegar or apple cider vinegar acidifies the blood and tissues which

promotes the production of bacteria, yeast, fungus, and mold.

From: http://pureliquidgold.com/candidadiet.htm

Aflatoxin: One of the most potent carcinogens known. It occurs in

beer, peanuts, brazil nuts, bulk grains and bread (more than a few

days old), overripe fruit and apple cider vinegar (is especially

bad). One hefty dose of aflatoxin can debilitate the liver for years.

Thus losing it's ability to detoxify. The importance of the above

mentioned mycotoxins is they can further weaken your immune system.

They are actually used as food by Candida albicans thus making

matters even worse. If you are sick. You should avoid these foods if

at all possible.

From: http://lightsv.org/cancer.htm

A common mold found on bread, nuts and fruit and in beer, apple cider

vinegar and syrups, produces afiatoxin

THE PROS:

http://www.execpc.com/~keephope/report16.html

Konlee's whole dissertation on the very positive benefits of ACV, its

antiviral and antifungal qualities.

http://www.ageless.co.za/applecider.htm

The entire site extols the benefits of ACV

http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/health/msg0609391818320.html

This is a forum on ACV and its benefits that does not sell ACV

It really doesn't seem like there is any defintive answer on this. In

the meantime, I have no idea whether to keep on the stuff or drop it

in fear of it stressing my immune system, especially if it is true

that ACV contains even minute amounts of aflatoxin.
