Guest guest
a, One question and one comment/wonder (and thanks for this): You say you take Mag Sulfate injections in the dose of 25 mg /day. Can someone translate that for me (or give the formula for doing so) to cc's (or, ml's)? I take 2 cc's IM of Mag Sulfate 50% solution (which I assume is the same as what you're taking because that's what I've always been given by a number of docs) 3 times per week. I was told (I think on this list) that Dr. C prefers 1 cc every day but realizes that the pain and/or tissue injury of going into muscle tissues every day often reduces compliance, though I " feel " that the injury itself is harmful, because it's just another form, like what we get from exercise. Anyway, I'm curious whether your dose is near or far from what I assumed was recommended. The other comment is that many of us seem to be unsure which of our supplements and meds are helping us, though some obviously are at least about certain of their treatments. This is such a big/important issue. I for one feel that I'm taking less than I should (for example, I suspect alpha lipoic acid is important) and worry that if I stop what I'm taking I'll get sicker even if I'm clearly not getting better. The only things in my regimen that I can connect with improved well-being are: magnesium vit c vit B-l2 (hydroxo, as injected) .. . . BECAUSE when I stop these I get undesirable symptoms. But we know that observable (by us) symptoms aren't the only measure of the worth of something, which is where we end up trusting research and clinicians. Like milk thistle. I feel no different on it yet I fear if I didn't take it my liver would ultimately go under, given all the drugs and toxins etc. Periodically I also worry if any of the things I take are harmful, if only in the long run. But we are working in a medical system and a CFS/ME doctor system that hasn't been collaborative and focused on the collection of data that would help us with this issue. Which, in 21st century Western society seems outrageous. BTW, when I stop the C the skin around my fingernails starts cracking into open, painful wounds. I assume I don't get enuf C in my diet and must supplement because I think that's a scurvy like symptom; but it hurts and is open to infection and can't be good. Guest guest
Hi, this is Tania. I've had CFS for 3 years now. Have had periods of being unable to walk from one room to the next, and periods of being able to play " Marco Polo " with relatives in a swimming pool. These days not feeling too good, but not horrible. Able to maintain the house for the most part and go on short walks with my husband. Have started feeling worse since started amalgam removal, which I guess is to be expected and is temporary. Thank you for the list of what you're taking. My list is as follows: 1.. Guest guest
Hi a, That's quite a list. Seems you are going after the immune side of things quite heavily. Have you considered having your adrenals evaluated by a saliva test? The palpatations may be related as well as many of your other symptoms. The other consideration is simply with everything you are taking there certainly could be reactions to something along the way. My wife developed sensitivities to quite a few things and we are always very cautious to note the effects of supplements, etc. on her and add one thing at a time to notice reactions. Just a thought, since so many PWC's do have sensitive bowel health and have developed many sensitivities. Guest guest
a, I get the colloidal silver from www.utopiasilver.com. If you want to read some research about colloidal silver and what to look for in a desirable product check out the sight www.silver-colloids.com If that doesn't come up try www.colloids-silver.com I can never remember which it is. According to what I've read utopia silver meets the criteria for a good product and is relatively inexpensive $10-15/8oz bottle depending on how much you order. It's still too early to tell whether I will be able to keep the yeast at bay with it. If it seems to work I will order a generator (the HVAC). According to the research done by professor Gibbs, the smaller generators produce particles that are too big which decreases efficacy and increases the risk of argyria if taken over a long period of time. Guest guest
I was thinking about nootropics like Piracetam or Ginkgo biloba, lecithin, antioxidants, B vitamins.etc..the latter mixture is the one that is highly appreciated by a dr here who is no1 in mito problems here. He says our brain need all these things together to work properly. If you are interested in exact composition, let me know (you can backchannel me). Works great for me. Guest guest
My chiropractor who practices kinesiology (he's been great) tells me that one source of headaches is liver toxicity. I'm on NAC for that. NAC is also reduced to glutathione in the body. Maybe this would help? Guest guest
I tried feverfew but didn't do well with it - I think an allergic reaction but it was a long time ago. The neurologist who did my brain MRI to rule out MS suggested 400 mg B-2 per day. He was a mainstream doc, and for some reason I wasn't particularly fond of him. Long story short, several months later someone on one of my other lists said she was taking 400 mg B-2, and after several months it did indeed stop her migraines/headaches. I am on lots of things, including Cheney's immunemodulation program, but the severity of my headaches is greatly reduced. I get a mild headache after every heparin injection, but stays mild, or goes away. The only ones it hasn't helped yet are my hormonal Days 1 and 2 of my period migraines. Guest guest
Hi michelle, I know, it's a lot isn't it. Yes I definately am better and overall seem to be getting stronger and stronger. It's not to say that I haven't had my setbacks. This may sound a little grandiose, but I believe I have a 90% chance of being cured within the next year or two. I actually forgot to put a couple supplements on the list that I am taking 1. Adrenogen for adrenal support 2. extra molybdnum to counteract the waste products produced by the yeast in my system 3. 5-HTP helps greatly with anxiety, sleep, and depression. (However, since I started taking the enzymes, I have started weaning off the 5-HTP because the enzymes are helping more with these things than the 5-HTP! I surely didn't expect that to happen. It's amazing the things that start to happen when your body is getting more of the nurtrients that it needs to function correctly!) There may be a couple more that I'm forgetting. I'm planning to add pine bark extract that basically helps " recycle " all the antioxidents I'm taking (get more bang for the buck). My infectious disease doc diagnosed me. He is a western medicine doc who does not really treat me. He is a wonderful liaison between myself and the insurance company. I owe the progress I've made to a book called " The Brain Wellness Plan " and to my chiropractor who practices kinesiology. He basically tweeks the supplements I'm taking. He tells me that my illness is due to toxicity from pollution etc. and mercury. I'm in the process of having all the mercury out of my mouth and chelating the rest of it out of my body. Most of these supplements don't provide a quick sense of " now I feel better " . It's been more of a gradual feeling better as the toxins leave my body. However, I did feel SO MUCH BETTER within 2-4 weeks of following the supplements outlined in " The Brain Wellness Program " in the chapter for those with CFS. I have maintained this improvement ever since then. When I first got CFS I was housebound and couldn't walk further than from one room to the next. I couldn't go down into my basement because I knew I wouldn't be able to get back up the stairs. I really think that, for me (everyone is different), I'm on the right track. Good luck, Tania Re: Supplements/Meds > > I Take > > > > > > Thanks for the update :-), a > > I wonder if you have any cognitive problems? I > > didn't notice any supplement > > for brain. Guest guest
, Oops, forgot to answer a couple questions. Yes, I am A LOT BETTER. I'm still not able to work consistently, but I'm able to have a life and get out of the house. I still have to be very careful not to over do or I risk big setbacks. No, I've never heard of vinpocetene. What is it? Tania Re: Supplements/Meds > > I Take > > > > > > Thanks for the update :-), a > > I wonder if you have any cognitive problems?
