Guest guest
Sorry if I'm behind the curve. I'm a little confused. Aren't both Immunocal and Immunepro made from undenatured whey? So, if you're sensitive/allergic to milk, don't get why both wouldn't bother you. I think(correct me if wrong)that Steve B. wrote in earlier post that Immunepro really bothered his gut, so I think he switched to Immunocal and it didn't. Is Immunocal just a different product and for some strange reason it doesn't bother some people's gut as much or is there some reason that we know of? Because it isn't as strong as Immunepro? or doesn't have lactoferrin? Any input? I'm allergic to milk and have gut problems, but thought that generally Immunepro was thought to be more effective by Cheney and many of those in the original study he did with some of his patients. Anyone have website for Immunocal where it goes into detail about ingredients, how it's processed, etc? I will go back and research past posts on Immunocal and if I find the $40 source, I'll re-post for person who was asking where to get it, I need to understand the 2 products better. I have immunepro website. Thanks alot! Guest guest
Hi K, I wish I understood the products more too. All Cheney said was that ImmunePro has lactopheron(sp?) and Immunocal does not so evidently it works for lactose intolerant people. Since the last post I found Immunocal's website: http://www.immunotec.com/usa/index2.asp Also the Dallas FortWorth support Group has excellent articles that are well worth reading . . . and worth taking to your doctor. I think the one on undenatured whey is in the newsletters area of the website as most of the articles are. http://www.virtualhometown.com/dfwcfids/ Hope this helps - sorry for the spelling errors. Good spelling is something I lost when CFIDS came along. I believe Steve switched to Immuplus, not Immunocal. At least that's what he told me many months ago. Immunepro in some respects is supposed to be stronger (possibly read as a stronger detoxifier?) than Immunocal/Immuplus, which reportedly is why some people don't tolerate it. I do know that the scoop provided in the Immunepro container is now half the size of the original scoop when it first came out. Dr. Cheney still feels the " science " lies behind Immunocal, but whichever one a PWC is able to tolerate, ought to be ok. Donna in NC (who used to tolerate both with no trouble until starting Cheney's immune modulation program, and now tolerates neither very well)
Guest guest
Immunepro was originally thought to be stronger, but now is thought to be 'different' and some people to better on it and some do worse. Also there is another big difference in terms of the gut. Immunepro has lactoferrin (as does LEF's version). My husband can't take lactoferrin or he gets diarrhea. But Imuplus and Immunepro do not have lactoferrin added.
