Wobenzyme N (the weak US form of what is used in Europe...) is a pig pancreas extract mixed with other plant enzymes, that function at only about 50% in humans (if it activates) because their optimal functional activity pH range is 7.8-8.3 which is above our blood and tissue range of 7.3-7.4. I've worked for Enzyme companies over the years and have formulated several products, and I know the manufacturer of Wobenzyme, 's Enzymes, etc. They do have some benefit but newer technology offers better options.....Pancreatic glandular extracts like that which contain a-chymotrypsin, trypsin, etc. require huge amounts and I dislike using them now since we also risk contaminants (BSE,viruses, etc.) from commodity quality pancreases that not even the pharmaceutical manufacturers guarantee as 100% pure...also, since there are different standards for USP drug a-chymotrypsin (injectible) than for glandular grade, which is what these all are...made for oral use... You need to read my website page...it has some of this also... http://www.arrowheadhealthworks.com/actizyme.htm ActiZyme is an enzyme product that specifically activates endogenous fibrinogen, our own body's enzyme which is floating around in an inactive state... which dissolves fibrin which is involved in clot making and immune-complexes, which are inflammatory...where ever there is inflammation and allergies or immune problems, there are immune complexes (part of the complement pathway)... ActiZyme is different this way: It is an enzyme trigger to the body's metabolic enzymes to activate and go to work whereas Wobenzyme or any other proteolytic enzyme, even fungal or plant based ones, DO NOT TRIGGER THE BODY'S OWN METABOLIC ENZYME POOL but are used to SUPPLEMENT it...which is good but it's a huge shot gun approach when it comes to fibrin...betting that the enzymes you're ingesting will make it to their target sites and be able to activate once they get there...it's better than nothing but isn't real efficient... which is why I developed ActiZyme™... and remember, clearing the debris after you've broken it up is critically important too...(pure water and exercize and beta glucan...) or else you've just redeposited it somewhere else... Also, ActiZyme has no animal products in it except the gel capsule...there is no papaya, bromelain, etc. It contains enzymes specific for activating fibrinogen to dissolve excess fibrin, unlike Wobenzyme which are general protein digesting enzymes that are not specific to fibrin but are broad spectrum and may dissolve some fibrin if you get enough.
