Guest guest
from one Steve to another You make some very good point. I too developed a tolerance to Nimotop. I am lucky in that I tolerate Aricept very well. One of my Drs. told me not to taking because her mother with AD took it and was Sh*tting al over her house. I would wear diapers to keep the benefit I derive form this drug. I have found I need to take talwin every day but I only take one or two pills a day. The max dose for this drug is 19 pills a day. If it stops working I will take Naltraxone or Bup?. I have not developed a tolerance for Neurontin & I take 4000 mgs a day. Kutapressen keeps my lymph nodes from swelling & maybe it does more but I cannot tell. I am not sure about B12 either, I take both shot and sub Q -- I think it helps just a little. If I really need to drive some distance I take hydrazine at first it worked like magic but then I developed a tolerance and it stopped working. Now it will work for a day but I tend to pay the next day. I think it is great you can get good service from Cheney but I need Doctors I can run to every week or two. For reason of documenting disability and for altering drug and support. I would have to move to NC and with the prices he charges I would have to swim across the damn bay to get to his Island. But for those who work well with Cheney's system god bless you and thanks for providing the information that I can take to my doc here in Missouri. Guest guest
Steve, One good thing about Nimotop/Nimodipine i found in my research is that it appears to be beneficial to the brain in the long run unlike many of the 100+ drugs Goldstein has found to reduce symptoms in some PWC's. Nimotop almost totally eliminated my CFS symtoms for a few months and it was a big dissapointment when it stopped working. I would pulse the dose of talwin to reduce the chances of building a tolerance - like take one pill day one, 3 day 2, and keep alternating and don't take any during month 3. Just a thought. Steve B.
