Guest guest
Bea, ImmunePro is a milk product, and milk is considered safe from BSE and has never been included in the products from which one can catch the prion that causes BSE. I would not worry about it. Regards, . Immunocal vs Immunepro (Rich and others on whey) > Hello Folks, > > My son is a ME patient and has been taking Immunepro for one year. Guest guest
Hi Bea, I know a few CFS patients who find Immunocal to be much stronger despite reports that Immunopro was stronger. Laurion on our list and others may feel the same about this. It could be a stronger detox reaction. Some do better on Immunopro, but I'm hearing that the preference is for Immunocal. Guest guest
Bea Dr. Cheney just recently told me that of the 3 whey products, he prefers the Immunocal. And now that Immunocal can be obtained for less cost than before, it is his first choice. He does not agree that ImmunPlus and and Immunocal are " identical " . It is true that many people respond differently, so you have to find the one that works for you. I have researched mad cow disease, and it seems that to anyone's knowledge, mad cow disease has NOT affected DAIRY cattle, only beef cattle. (I am not a doctor or scientist.) If anyone knows different, please post. For myself, I find ImmunoPlus to be mild and less effective than Immunocal. It does not give me much pain relief or energy, but it does not make sleepy. Immunocal makes me very sleepy, but gives great pain relief. I just live with the sleepiness during the week, and sleep the weekends away. I could not tolerate ImmunPro at all, and had a wide variety of terrible symptoms. Perhaps your son could lower the dose on Immunocal and work his way up. By the way, sleepiness from Immunocal is a common effect in many people, but of course not all. Laurion > Hello Folks, > > My son is a ME patient and has been taking Immunepro for one year. Guest guest
Hi Laurion, I was told by a very knowledgeable person that for quite a long time Immunocal was buying their whey protein from Imuplus and putting it in their own packages. The two companies were involved in a lawsuit and I don't believe that is the case any more. Steve It would be interesting to find out just how different the two wheys are now, assuming the above is true. I take Imuplus and have thought of trying the 'Cal again.
