Guest guest
Hi, Christie, >I am starting CO-Q10 working up to 700mg and carnitor working up to 990mg. >Added to this will be B Vitimins, alpha lipoic acid, selenium, vit C to >prevent as much free radical damage as possible. I also started DHEA. >Carnitine (carnitor) is covered by insurance, but Co-q isn't. Because of >the >expense, I started working toward getting Blue Cross to cover it. When I was started on CoQ10, my doc wrote a scrip for sublingual formulated. This was not on the market then - isn't now unless you consider chewable and sublingual as the same. His/my source was Pharmacy on the Park; Charlotte, NC 28211 ph: 800-654-3115 As it was available by Rx formulation only, insurance should have paid for it - but didn't. (Didn't pay for Carnitor either. Ostensibly because the CoQ10 was OTC, & FDA regulations be d* & $ed; Carnitor was not " approved for use " in CFS, and FDA policy and approval language be d*^$ed. But then, Blue Cross is greater than God, or at least any stupid government agency, according to ThemSelves. BTW, my sympathies on your insurer.) I have been taking 3g/day Carnitor for 7 years now. I also have a terrible body odor, but have noticed that it changes when my symptoms change - sometimes acidic, sometimes smoky (oxidation products?), sometimes something I can't describe except as really nasty. The odor, and my symptoms, have been getting progressively worse. So I'm thinking that it is some infection causing the stink. Incidentally, I have seen where some docs believe that mito damage can be due to infection with mycoplasma or other intracellular parasite.
