I'm almost certain that Sinequan and Doxepin are the same thing. I can't help

you with the rapid, racing heart - never experienced that. But I do know that

when Cheney prescribed Doxepin for me, he said that CFS patients are very

sensitive to it, and that's why he prescribes the elixir. He said to start with

two drops, and slowly advance, but that 5 mg was usually the upper range of what

folks tolerated. He said if you start feeling groggy or sedated, to lower the

dose.

Sounds like 5 mg is too much for your body.

Take care. Carol

I believe I also read that a prominent CFS researcher said that

PWCs can have paradoxical reactions to drugs. In this case, a drug

intended to be a sedating antidepressant actually made your heart

race. I know several others who have had paradoxical reactions with

different drugs. As Carol says, cut way back on the dose, as your

body gets used to it, the racing heart may go away.
