Guest guest
> Has anyone on the list had trouble with Parkinsons type symptoms such as tremors of the hands, arms and feet or head " bobbing " ? I had those symptoms quite badly some of the time until I started on a Parkinsons drug in 1997. [Patti] At my worst I had what I think were alarming Parkinson-type symptoms. I had hand tremors so bad I couldn't write anymore, and the pesky head " bobbing " and some shuffle also. Not sure exactly what I did to overcome this, but it started going away when I was working on improving Th1 response. (but sometimes I'm on so much its hard to say what's doing what) Parkinson's is basically a lack of dopamine. The symptoms you see with lack of dopamine follow a continuum. Anything above a certain percentage loss of dopamine is called normal, and anything below a certain percentage of normal dopamine levels is arbitrarily called Parkinson's (some info on this at www.antiaging-systems.com <http://www.antiaging-systems.com> - gosh, I mention them so much I ought to get a commission - I DON'T - they just have lots of cool info there). I've read quite a few papers detailing low dopamine levels in PWCs. I think we probably " ride the line " on dopamine levels, not low enough to be called Parkinson's but still low enough to get some symptoms. Dopamine levels drop with age, so theoretically everyone will get Parkinson's eventually if they live long enough. Some people develop the dopamine loss at earlier ages and more precipitously and get Parkinson's earlier. I've said many times that I think there is plenty of evidence to show CFS is an early ageing disease and low dopamine levels are one key to my theory. However with my current problems the hand tremor returned recently.
