Hi All,

I read this really long report yesterday and noticed some interesting things

that may be useful for treating some CFS symptoms:

Molybdenom supplementation raises uric acid levels (useful for me and Mike C.)

Silica indicated to be useful, as is magnesium, zinc, selenium, and all the

other things we already know about; I won't go into redundant

treatments/products.

Mannatech's Ambrotose and Phyt Aloe reportedly useful.

First section states 10-20 grams/day of L-Glutamine useful and in latter section

under " healing leaky gut " , 1,500 mg./day is suggested.

Secretin infusion heals leaky gut, diarr, GI problems (no idea where you'd get

this done?)

Chewing foods slowly and thorooughly is important for digestion.

Drinking glass of water 30 minutes before meals re-hydrates mucous lining of

intestimes.

Betaine HCL, digestive enzymes, a-ketoglutarate, and butyric acid aid digestion

and absorption (nothing new here but he's really emphasizes importance of HCL

even when stomach acid levels normal).

Amino acid supplementation suggested, especially branched-chain aminos.

Seacure, pure aminos and brewers yeast mentioned as good sources.

Kirkman Lab's Colostrum Gold is mentioned (only brand that is casein-free).

www.gfcfdiet.com - source for info. on leaky gut syndrome.

DMG and TMG beneficial but not good if there is an autoimmunity problem.

Healing Leaky Gut:

200 mg/day bromelain

pancreatic enzymes (lactose, cellulose, peptidase)

Probiotics

5-10K i.u's Vit. A and 500-1000 iu's Vit D (preferably cod liver oil - Norwegian

is purest type).

15-30 mg. zinc

Aloe (pref. Manopol or Ambrotose by Mannatech)

Fiber, pref. fructoligosacharide

Restore adequate sulfate to body

Kirkman Lab's new acidophilus (guaranteed casein-free)

Tyrosine and trypto. compete with BCAA (branched-chain's); take BCAA's 1 hour

before or after meals.

To kill off bad gut bacteria: urva ursi (ST use only), plant tannins, berberine,

oil of oregano* (8 drops in AM/ 8 in PM); Neomycin 250 mg./ bismuth 50 mg. made

by compounding pharmacy can kill of Klebsilliea Pnemonaie (apparently vy.

difficult to kill off).

Rotate all GI therapies; Kirman's Colostrum Gold and whey-proteins good.

www.liverdoctor.com

" Yeast Avenger " www.cfsn.com

Drink 1/2 of juice of lemon or apple cider vinegar 1/2 hr. before meals; don't

dring anything else during and up to 2 hrs. after meal - interferes with HCL.

L-Carnitine 500 mg. 2x/day on empty stomach

Take Eve. Prim. Oil w/cod liver oil.

NAC - more than 500 mg/day increases risk of cysteine toxicity.

managanese - natural chelating agent.

methionine (an amino) detoxifies histamine and some heavy metals.

Goat yogurt good for gut.

taurine 100 mg/day - take w/cod liver oil.

Vit. A and zinc deficiency causes diarrhea - take probiotics, dig. enz., HCL,

eve. prim., cod liver oil (only natural source of A & D & Omega 3).

Increasing protein, water intake and reducing parasite infect. reduces constip.

Bethanecol 10 mg/day - increases antimicrobial peptides in small intestine, may

repair damage to intestines caused by EB virus, need to take cod-liver oil 2

months before beginning.

Most people ingest far too much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3.

Avoid canola oil, safflower, cottonseed, peanut, mustard; coconut and olive oil

are better.

Eat fatty fish (salmon, mackrel, sardines) 3x/wk or use cod liver oil.

Drink 1/2 body weight (pounds) in water (ounces) - in addition to all other

liquids (seems awful high).

Supplementing w/calcium, B6, manganese, and magnesium controls levels of calcium

going into cells.

No more than 1 mg. A-lipoic per pound body weight (1/2 mg better) at each

dosing; multiple doses per day is best.

Cilantro improves affects of antivirals, elim. heavy metals.

Kyolic - aged garlic 800-421-2998 is powerful chelator.

Avoid grape fruit seed extract, grape seed extract, kava, kava, quercitin,

vinpocetine, rosemary, shitake, cat's claw, valerian if Phase 1 enzymes are a

problem (?)

Essaic tea helpful in healing GI tract but only use occassionaly because burdock

root toxic.

You can have glutathione excess caused by whey protein products which causes

excess cysteine (cause diarrhea, anxiety, nausea, cramps).

Coleus Forskolin (poor man's secretin) - improves thyroid function, digestive

disorders, immune enhancer.

Lecithin - antioxidant, prevents cholestrol from coagulating, detoxifies lad and

mercury.

Lot more in text but I think I hit majority of useful supplements and

treatments. Steve B.

Steve,

Thanks for posting your summary, it will take me a while to read

through the full document so it was kind of you to post on the key

points.
