Guest guest
My heart flutters and skips alot too . It terrifies me and is always worse when I am sickest. Have you been diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse? I have some good info and websites to share on MVP if you would like. Also, Steve and I have shared some info in recent posts related to CFS and heart involvement. I wonder though, do you know these symptoms are caused by the heparin? Have you experienced these symptoms on and off before? Be careful of stopping the heparin if you feel it is helping. a
Guest guest
, Can you exactly quantify the racing heart -- i.e. what is your pulse resting and standing up? The reason that I ask is that the heart can be viewed as an engine - engine sounds change when you change gasoline or oil or .... etc. It may seem to be racing (compared to what you are accustomed to), or because the blood flow easier so the beat is easier to detect, you may be aware of it far more.... Hence, finding out if it is " racing " (beating faster) or just louder (because the blood flows easier...) or ... what exactly is the physical signs of what you term 'racing' M Lassesen, M.S. ex " Dr.Gui (MSDN) " , " Dr. VB " cv: http://www.folkarts.com/kenl/ KenL@... It makes me nervous because my heart actually to weak to handle the blood that has started to move through it since the herparin injection. I have had fluttering before and its scary and heck. I really need to get to the bottom of this so I can continue taking the Heparin. It just gets much worse after I take the Heparin. Yes, if you don't mind can you send me the website info on the MVP. I am sure I have MVP(most likely do to CFS) but I have never been test for it. What other info did Steve and yourself share about MVP...you mean the magnesium info? Thank you,
Guest guest
, It sounds like mitral valve prolapse which unfortunately is something PWC's get more often than the general public. I would see a cardiologist. They can easily tell with a stethoscope. My cardiologist used to have me come into his office occassionally so that medical students could listen to my heart and learn to identify it. Mine went away twice during two brief remmissions. I'm hoping I can get rid of the damn thing some day. Steve B. Guest guest
: Have you checked into the posibility of Heparin Induced Trombosis (HIT)? This is the potentially serious side effect of heparin use that happens in a percentage of the population, I think about 3%. I don't know if it could cause the cardiac symptoms you described, but I'd certainly check into it with your doctor. HIT basically causes coagulation instead of the intended thinning of heparin therapy. There are drugs just for treating HIT. I don't mean to alarm you, and like I said, I don't know if it could cause what you describe. In fact I don't know much about it, but I think anyone on heparin ought to be aware that it can cause very serious side effects in a small percentage of the population. And might want to find out what to look out for. Doctors are always saying " that's rare " . Well, ok, how many rare diseases are there? I think our chances of getting one are not so bad if you look at them as a whole. You may want to add magnesium deficiency to your list of potential heart problem theories. I hope you are taking plenty of magnesium. E. " I'd rather be working " <<Well, my heart is still acting funny. Its fluttering a lot and races too. It makes me nervous because my heart actually to weak to handle the blood that has started to move through it since the herparin injection. I have theories on why the heparin could be bothering my heart this: 1) My heart is to weak to handle the blood all of sudden rushing through it. It could be weak from years of not pumping right or working over time. 2) It could be from a virus in the heart 3) It could be from having a calcium/mag/potassium problem, meaning those minerals aren't balancing right. 4) It could be from not having balanced Amino Acids. My aminos are so off balance right now, I am getting tested to try to balance them out. Can somone/anyone please add your input? I finally found something that could help and now I can't take it because my heart is bothering me when I take it. Has this happened to anyone else? I really need some suggestions. Guest guest
Hi , I think that you need to look into and researchj Mitral Valve Prolapse. It seems that there is a subset of CFS that are affected with MVP. My personal opinion is that three is a connection to Magnesium deficiency. The Magnesium site has great info on CFS and MVP. It is worth searching through. Also, I am sending along some other info specific to MVP. WWW.MITRALVALVEPROLAPSE.com The Society for MVPS P.O.
