Guest guest
Hi Dave, welcome. You have tried quite a few therapies! How effective was the chelation for you? Also, I am interested in maybe doing the Feingold diet myself. I have already reduced the obvious dyes, chemicals, additives and such, and am wondering if this is a 100% or nothing thing like the GFCF diet. Is 80% okay? What do you think of it? I have tried 5 enzyme products. The Super Digestaway did nothing to assist in the dairy/gluten problem for us. EnzymAid was okay for unknowns and hiddens but not very effective for casein/gluten foods (although it helped a little). Carbo by Enzymedica and EnzymAid- Complete are much more expensive than Zyme Prime (I admit, I have a budget, LOL). We have used Peptizyde and ZymePrime for almost 3 months now and eat casein/gluten foods regularly with no problems. Actually my 9 and 7 year old were recently evaluated as recovered. I had no intention of using Zyme Prime in the beginning, but after reading about how much regular enzyme use helped improve overall health I changed my mind (such as heals leaky gut, improves immune system, fights yeast and bad bacteria, improves bowel and gastro problems). Also, I heard a lot of other parents say that their kids were so much happier on both. My older son needed an attitude adjustment, so I tried it. I didn't really notice anything at first but now can see that they have more energy, are more pleasant and more tolerable of things on both than just the Peptizyde. Since you have noticed undigested food regularly, it would be worth a try. Some of the parents using Peptizyde/Zyme Prime regularly are reporting all kinds of " extra " benefits, such as increased language, awareness, pleasantness, wider choices in food, etc.

We seen some positive changes and hope to see more as there is still mercury coming out in his urine during challenge tests. We haven't used alpha-lipoic acid for very long which is supposed to get the mercury out of the brain so we hope the biggest changes are ahead of us. Also, I am interested in maybe doing the Feingold diet > myself. I think we might have seen bigger changes with the feingold diet in our son's behavior then going gfcf, so I think it is underrated as a therapy to try. Our son did not sleep through the night until we got rid of all milk products from his diet so that was a big change I should mention that the feingold diet didn't help. The biggest changes we saw with the feingold diet was better eye contact, decreased hyperactivity and much less of a spacey look. I think you have done a lot of the main parts of the feingold diet already. The feingold diet is not all or nothing. It is recommended to first go 100% on the feingold diet by eliminating all artificial dyes, colors, BHA, BHT, and TBHQ and fruits and vegetables that are high in natural salicylates. Once you see a favorable response you can begin to add back in the fruits and vegetables one at a time to see which to keep out and which to keep in. The artificial items are kept out for good. The bodies response to the feingold diet seems to be something of a total load phenomena. When adding things back in you will try to find how much one can handle. Thanks for the advice on the enzymes. I forgot to mention that my son hasn't gained much weight over the last 1-1.5 years. He has held steady around 45lbs. Has digestive enzymes helped with weight gain in others? Dave
