I have heard and I know of one case where the HGH fed these viruses and bacterias and made them grow more and the person ended up being worse off. Are you concerned about this type of reaction? I don't know if I have EB, CMV, HHV6, but think I must have at least one of them or some other virus. I know that antivirals like amantadine and famvir improved my symptoms early in my condition (the amantadine eliminated all fever-like symptoms. The Famvir eliminated all cognitive dysfunction for 6 months until I developed a tolerance for it and it stopped working. I'm not worried about HGH because I've been taking Somatomed for a year now and it has had nothing but very positive affects. It has normalized my sleep completely and in the process greatly improved my cognitive function. As you know, Somatomed is one of the plant-based growth hormone releasers taken before bedtime. It is one of the primary purposes the supplement was developed. Dr. Cheney tested several patients before and after and published something brief showing how it did increase IGF-1 (HGH) levels. It does have some licorice root in it but label doesn't specify how much (it just says it's part of a proprietary blend of different items that total 500 mg. per 3 tablets. I think I'll call Vespro to see how much licorice is in it. HGH is below normal in majority of CFS patients. I know I haves some hormonal problems. Is it tremendously expensive? Can you give a cost? I plan to gradually up the dose to 2.5 i.u's 3x/week. I wish the injections were IM. I think subcutaneous is more painful and sometimes you end up accidentally going too deep and making it IM by mistake. You need a prescription for this stuff unless you get it in Mexico. You can buy Somatomed or other GH stimulating pills w/o prescription and these pills will also raise HGH levels. I take 3 Somatomed pills 5 nights/week. Take care, Steve B.
