Guest guest
Ok, update. We started enzymes in earnest Wednesday. He was in a very foul mood most of that day, and also had diarrhea. Thursday, did not exhibit foul mood at all. However, he spent most of the morning and afternoon at a neighbor's house playing video games, so he was not 'provoked' or given chores to do, which is usually when he exhibits the worst behaviors. I did notice quite a bit of silly or giddy mood, which indicates to me he felt good. Last night he ate a cheese sandwich without taking any enzymes!! AARRGGHH! I had him take them afterwards, but I am thinking it probably was too late. Today he is foul, irritating, etc all day long again. Please tell me the sandwich could have done this and the enzyme regime can help prevent this type of day from happening again. In the back of my mind I know these things, but I need support! Thanks, Joan Have a wonderful day! _________________________________________________________
Guest guest
Joan, I definitely think you may have been too late, especially if he ate slowly. Can you hang in there for two weeks? That really seems to be the length of time needed to see success. The diarrhea you saw the first day is a common reaction. If it is a big problem, you can always reduce the dose. You're at the right place for support, be sure to let us know how your son does. > Ok, update. > We started enzymes in earnest Wednesday. Guest guest
Joan, so glad to hear from you. Yes, the cheese sandwich could very well cause that. My son will have a full fledge reaction over 1/2 slice of cheese. I am downed for a day and 1/2 with complete head pain over a couple bites of yogurt. Taking them afterwards may only help if it was within 90 minutes of the sandwich, otherwise not too much. It sounds as though he is responding to the enzymes! This is good. Here is some information on infractions I just got today. I was going to forward the entire post but haven't received permission yet, so I will paraphrase. The question pertains to using Pepcid AC for infractions after the fact. Devin responded earlier that Pepcid AC probably wouldn't help due to the fact it takes so long for the stomach acid to change. However, another person posted this. Pepcid AC can be used successfully long after the initial infringement and helps to reduce the severity of the reaction because there is research that, apparently, Pepcid blocks the reaction in the brain. So the opiates, allergens or whatever form, but Pepcid AC blocks the receptors. She states that when it wears off, another tablet can be given. She said that the last time she had a major reaction, she gave her son a tablet daily for three days before the reaction stopped. So you can try it to stop a reaction even days after the original infringement. I think it would definite be worth trying. I remember reading about Pepcid AC being effective for infractions but can't find it right off. I will be looking for Day 5. Best wishes. . Guest guest
Well, I lived through the surgery and am on the road to recovery. The permanent stimulator is in and functioning. This is the first day that I have been on the computer and trust me that it will be short. Just have a laptop and ....ouch. Is it normal to be really emotional after all of this? Anyway, take care of yourselves!!!!!!!.........sheryl
