Thank you. It is hard to find time to do any research or even check in

with a support group. I have tried prednisone, but the fevers came

more frequently and with no improvement in the severity of symptoms. I

couldn't stand it. And it made Lea Aileen hyperactive. She could not

sleep. It broke my heart.

I really appreciate your reply. I am still trying to find mly way

around this website/support group. Guess you can tell I am not too

familiar with " surfing " . I have 2 little ones at home and am fearful

of homeschooling. Not sure I could keep up with it all. Well, Lea

Aileen is fevering this week, so off I go to check on her again. I

will be back when I can.......

Welcome to the list (RN)! Maybe all the RN's I know will take some HP

classes and open up a practice near you someday:)! I can't help you find a

homeopath but, you are a great new addition with humor to the list! Jenn L

Welcome, (my brother moved from Overland Pk, Kansas a few years ago!)

I'm an RN, too (former RN, I should add). I worked in OB and pediatrics until 8

years ago. I live in Kentucky. My 2 kids were fully vaxed up until 5 years ago

when I found out about the dangers of vaccines. They are both in high school

now, and will not get any additional vaccines if I can help it! We also stopped

using allopathic medicine about 3+ years ago.

As far as finding a local homeopath, you're much better off finding one out of

town that comes highly recommended personally. There are so few good classical

homeopaths. Our's is 1000 miles away and does phone and email consults. Many

will do this. Sheri N. can recommend someone to you, too.

Hi Kay,

Thanks for the warm welcome! It's so good to hear confirmation that I've

made the right decision not to vaccinate. I'll definitely check into

finding a high quality homeopath, instead of just trying to find one

locally. Would you be willing to e-mail me privately to give me the name of

your homeopath?

Thanks,

Yes, nurses who have opened their minds, I think would make some of the

best homeopaths

Know pathology and anatomy and phys and how things work but work from a

homeopathic mindset.

Hi --

Welcome to the group. I'm . I live in NY with my DH and 2 great kids

- both partially vaxed. And my oldest just got his drivers license --

yikes!

I'm glad to hear your one of those nurses have also discovered the dangers

of vaccines. I work with a growing group of nurses who have discovered the

same -- it's nice to see the message getting out. :-)

I look forward to getting to know you.

My dr. saw my deteriorating cartilage with x-rays. He even showed me how it was

worse in one knee than the other. He said MRI's are a waste of money for this

condition.

Joya

----- .

I was also told that they can't tell much about cartilage problems

with xrays or mri scans. Is that true?

Do you think I've done the right thing and does anyone have any

advise?

Thanks a lot everyone.

Hi Caroline,

Welcome to this group, although I'm sure you'd rather not be here!

I was diagnosed with CMP about a year ago after my symptoms began at

the age of 37 (I am male) and my x-rays did not show any problems. I

had an MRI which showed some things but was not very conclusive and

didn't lead to any solutions. My OS prescribed PT and bracing and

that did not help at all. I eventually went to another OS who

suggested arthroscopic surgery so I decided to try that. I'm having

my surgery on Thursday and will post my progress to this group.

You may want to see another OS or consider arthroscopic surgery.

They can do a lot of stuff with the cartilage that may or may not

help. Sometimes surgery helps where conservative measures fail. I

figure it's worth a try!

At the very least you'll get a better diagnosis.

Of course any surgery should be followed by LOTS of PT!

Wishing you luck!

Thanks for the welcome.... I belive I got it from Air shots from

when I joined the military or at some time durring my 20 years of

service from the same. I know I did not get it from the most common

cause as I have never done any drugs with the exception of some pot

smoking in my high school days back in the early 70's oops I'm

dating myself now.(grin) I'm also hoping that they come up with

somthing better then they hjave right now, My Dr.seems to think my

body is flushing the virus out on its own. I have never herd of this

from any lituture I have red but I will keep a close eye on it to

insure it does not make a ture for the worse. I was recently

diagonsed with diabetes and take 2 injections daily to keep my blood

sugar in check.

Some time ago I belonged to some Hep C groups on delphi, what a

paton place that was. I sure hope this groupe is nothing like the

one that kept me away from support groups for the last 2 years.

As far as the 37 Dodge Brothers Pickup, I just love it... I have

been building it since 2001. Marie and I lot of Car shows durring

the summer and have met a tons of great people.

I'm retired for the second time so I have lots of time on my

hands... I keep planty of projects going on around the house to keep

me busy..

You're a better man than I, Tim. It was all I could do to stay in

the Army for 4 years, and most of that time I was drunk.

I've never heard of getting anything from the airguns, but I guess

its possible.

Diabetes is another nasty one. My sister has type 2 and only takes

some oral meds. Most here in this group don't like needles,

including me, so the thought of twice a day gives me the willies.

<brrrrrr> Since my sister has diabetes I know that they are working

hard to find a cure. Care to make odds on which one we cure first?

Keep on Truckin' (I go way back too! :))

When I decided

to stay in I just got back from visiting home and after seeing most of my

friends either in Jail or strung out on some type of Drugs I saw I had it much

better in the service. I was a Mechanic in the Army and enjoyed what I was

doing. I also was in Europe and loved traveling and seeing first hand what we

learned in History.

I have type 2

but I have my BS under full control, I eat much better now and fell the best I

have in many years.

I felt the same

way on the needles but you have to do what is best for your health… I use a pen

injector so I do not have to fill it up. I’m so glad I have good insurance.

I went to the VA in San Francisco, CA where my I found out I had type 3a with a VL of 243.000 I was new to all this but now I understand my VL was very low.A few months later I had a liver Biopsy, the results were good with no signs of any damage. This was a good day!!My DR. at the VA and I decided not to treat but to just watch. So every 6 months I went in for blood test. My VL decreased to where it is presently @ 160,000 I now had to switch DR's as I moved back to Central Texas. During my last 2 years in California I met the most wonderful woman in the world. Marie accepted my proposal and is now my Wife… Things I love to do is Dancing, building Hot Rods and swimming. I love to

Thanks Jax,

When I was in CA I lived in Ukiah, CA it

was a small city nested in the redwoods surrounded by wineries and pear orchards.

Yes I am very lucky and I have

been taking good care of myself to cut the possibility of having to go thru tx.

Marie (The better half grin) if

from Santa Cruz and her Daughter and Husband live in Sac. We are trying to plan

vacation this summer to Vegas and meet with them for a little fun in sin city….

I’m not much of a gambler as I only bet on a sure thing. But I’m sure I will

enjoy sitting buy the pool and going to some of the shows. A new airline is coming

to our airport starting in April and are offering round trip tickets for $68.00

It will be hard to not take advantage of this.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Tim

Welcome, Beth! This group has helped me so much and I haven't

been a member too awfully long. It's great having people to talk to

that are in the same boat. Anyway, welcome to the group!

Beth, I love that you quit smoking and are using the money you save to help you lose weight. That is so cool. I agree that people who don't have as much weight to lose as we do don't understand those hard impact exercises like jumping jacks are just too hard at our present weight. If you was to tell them you want them to strap 50 pounds of sugar to their waist and 25 pounds on each leg while doing them they would probaly say that ridulous, I cant do that. But that compares to what we would be doing(I'm speaking about those of us who are 100 plus overweight) I personally want to lose some of this weight first in non hard impact exercise like walking and dieting first and save the hard stuff for when I dont have 100 pounds of extra weight jumping with me and come falling down on my knees and feet. I do want to get to the point where I can do those exercises but realically for me that time is not now. Good Luck and enjoy your trainer and gym.

new to the group

Hi there everyone, I'm new to the group but not new to losing weight. I feel like I have been on a diet most of my adult life. When I was in high school I swam on a swim team and worked out everyday, I had about 11% body fat. Then I started having my kids and it all went down hill from there. I now weigh 283lbs and want to get down to 168lbs. I have tried many times over the past few years to lose weight but have failed everytime. I really think my head is in the right place this time, or at least I hope it's in the right place. I quiet smoking almost 6 weeks ago and figured it was now time to tackle the weight. I know I can't do it on my own so I have joined a gym and I'm working with a personal trainer 3 times a week for now. I figure what I would have spent on smokes will now go for training but I hope that I will only need his support for a few months and then will see some results that will keep me working on my own. I also feel I need support from others who like me need to lose large amounts of weight. Most of my friends at work only need to lose a few pounds or tone up so even though they are supportive they really don't understand what it means to be this big. When ever I feel like I can't do this anymore I tell myself that I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. Right now my six week weight goals is to lose at least 20lbs. My trainer is really good about not having me do things that are to stressful on my body and as far as deiting goes I have had to make sacrifices...like no more pepsi but right now he is taking foods that I enjoy eating that are healthy and giving me a two week at a time meal plan. Well I think I have said enough for now, I tend to be long winded when I type.Beth

Beth,

May I ask how you quit smoking. I don't smoke, never have, but my daughter does. And I want her to quit. Her daughter makes no smoking signs and puts them all over the house. Also, I totally agree with you about not doing high or hard impact exercises like jumping jacks. I can just imagine the pain it would cause in my legs and feet. I plan on keeping with low impact till I get a lot of this weight off.

hugs

Marla

Sorry it's taken so long to get back about how I quit smoking, I acutally was hypnotized by someone I work with. I have friends who got hypnotized before and it didn't work but then they confessed that they really weren't ready to quit. Me I was ready to quit and today makes 7 weeks smoke free. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a smoke right now and there are times when I'm lucky that my co-workers are supportive but I just keep telling myself "I DON'T SMOKE ANYMORE" over and over till the desire goes away.
