Guest guest
My husband just called from work, asking IF HIS DOCTOR CALLED HIM BACK???!!! OMG I about fell out of my chair. I said " Gasp ---- you called the dr? " & he said he had to -- he's been working on a snack size bag of pretzels for 3 days. Oh & he ate a yogurt today. It took him an hour. I asked if stuff was going down & coming back up, or if it felt like it wasn't going down at all. He said it's going down, & then his stomach feels like it's on fire, then it comes back up. So he called, & they said they'd call back -- but didn't. Great, don't they KNOW who they're dealing with? They MUST call BACK because I'm sure it took everything he had to make that call. I'll keep you posted! > > So get this -- my husband just got home from his parents house, where he was hunting for a week. He walked in a few minutes before dinner so I set a place for him. He didn't come to the table. When I asked if he was going to eat, he said no. I said " let me guess .. you stopped at Mcs on the way home " . He said no ... he hasn't eaten since WEDNESDAY! He said he can no longer keep anything down. > > Are you freaking KIDDING ME?!?!?? I get that the tests are rough -- I wouldn't want a tube shoved down my nose or throat. But what the heck is going to happen to him? What does he THINK is going to happen to him? He'll just continue to live without food?? > > For those of you who don't know, my husband is STUBBORN. He was diagnosed with A in July 2008 & had the Heller in November 2008. Had a 6 month checkup, they ordered an endoscopy. He had it done, never called for the results & never went back. Even after the dr sent 3 letters saying he should make an appt for another checkup. They've continued to fill his Rx once a year, over the phone. > > This is especially hard right now, because my grandma went into the hospital a week & a half ago. Something happened -- she had a stroke -- or she is suffering from dementia -- or something -- but she's become extremely paranoid & won't eat, because they are " out to poison her " . So she is slowly withering away. > > I know there's nothing I can do about my husband. I am just so angry & sad & frustrated .... I just needed to vent!! > > >

Guest guest
Funny you should say that about pretzels. The crunchy ones help my spasms, especially the 3 AM ones. I can get away with soft pretzels if I chew them like crazy, but they get stuck if my E has been upset. When I am not doing so well with swallowing-- it does seem to come and go-- toast works and bread does not. Hoppy beer really helps, but gives me headaches in the morning when I go too far. Dan Sent from Smrtphone That Lacks Spellchecker nowtri <nowtri@...> wrote: bag of pretzels???? of all the things i have ever eaten pretzels cause the most problems for me, they bring on night time spasms like nothing else, i have not had a pretzel (the small snack size) in as long as i can remember. just thought i would say... matt > > > > So get this -- my husband just got home from his parents house, where he was hunting for a week. Guest guest
Funny... I'm the same as Dan. When I have repeated spasms at night... Pretzels help to get it under control. Just proof we r all different! , California Sent from my iPhone On Nov 15, 2011, at 6:32 PM, Hoffman <rp518dan@...> wrote: > Funny you should say that about pretzels.
