Hi Jo,

My father in law has the burning/hurting feet very very bad. For him it was

Peripheral Neuropathy due to diabetes. You dont have to have diabetes to get

it.

The doctor put him on Neurotin which helped a bit, then they tried Elavil which

helped tremendously.

Hope this helps,

lori

I get that too. I had forgotten it is an FMS symptom. I get it esp. in bed

at night if it is a warm night, like my body can't regulate it's temperature

or something. I go put them under cold water, but they just keep burning. I

don't know why they do that, since the majority of the time, they are totally

freezing cold. ??? Anyway, you're not alone.

Now this is the kind of soul we should be talking about.

I do not have this but I have heard that a lot of folks with FM have it.

I don't have this specifically on my feet, but have a

feeling all over my body of sunburn, sometimes its

pretty severe. Its one of the symptoms that you don't

hear about very often, although I have heard of others

who have it.

There was a thread about this on CFS_mycoplasma. I also have had

burning feet. I don't know what causes it, but wonder if it may be a

circulation problem. Those of us with hypercoagulation (thick

blood), probably can't offload heat as well as normal and feet can

get mighty hot in shoes.

My solution isn't very fashionable, I wear cotton socks always, and

tend to wear either sandals or Swedish/Danish clogs (the orthopedic

ones). The clogs are easy to slip off when my feet get too hot.

ALso, I have also had problems with very sore, tight tissues on the

soles of my feet, especially upon getting up in the morning, and the

clogs have been helping me. I think that it is because the toes have

to work a little as you walk (it IS comfortable) and I think it has

improved my circulation in my feet and calves.
