Talk about copying ..........thank goodness Tara doesn't copy , Tara eats great, better then , esp at dinner, she self feeds from her bowl with a fork or spoon almost anything I give her, on the other hand, hasn't eaten a dinner going on 3 weeks now, I put dinner in front of him in his bowl, he then says " no eating " and if you are quick enough, I can catch the bowl before he tosses it! Tara just goes right on eating........Yea Tara!!!!!!!!!!!! Soo much for wanting her to mimick her " typical " twins behavior! Guest guest
The best thing I ever found was Balmex. It was like a miracle----rash and redness is gone overnight everytime. This was before I started making my own stuff, so I never did check the ingredients. I'll have to stop in at the drugstore and find out now. Guest guest
Hi B.J., You're doing it girl! Whooo Hooo. I don't know if you can get to your computer without waking the house up on mornings when you have low motivation. When I feel like I can't do a workout, I sit down at my computer and go to bodychangers.com and listen to an interview. I'm now in the habit of listening to an interview before each workout. Give it a try--it always works for me. I realize time might be a constraint, but even looking at the pictures is inspiring. About late night eating--I usually drink a protein shake. I would definitely not make it a free night meal as you will have had a mini- workout with bowling and you could be burning fat as you sleep. I'm glad you came out of lurkdome! I'm new to this board too. (This is week 1 for me--did a successful challenge a year ago--had some personal problems--am back to BFL again-- because I know this works!!) Warmly, Petra > Happy Wednesday to everybody! I have been such a slacker for about > the past...ummmmm.....year. LOL >but my first short-term and more realistic > goal is 206. Any significance to this number? It's like watching Final Jeopardy bids, wondering why people chose to bet a certain amount. > Are all the members following the same diet plan, or are you > doing " your own things? " Our own things. Some are following Deal A Meal or Foodmover, others are on Ornish or McDougall's vegetarian plans, and you've got everything in-between, including no plan at all, just avoiding junk food and increasing water consumption for now. One plan I haven't really seen discussed here too much is Atkins or other low carb plans. For about 2 weeks I tried Sugar Busters and had an upset stomach the whole time from all the fat! I didn't dare try any of their recipes using heavy cream for fear I would explode! Are you doing anything special yet or still browsing around for something you can live with? Guest guest
> >but my first short-term and more realistic > > goal is 206. > Any significance to this number? I chose 206 because for a long time I weighed between 200 and 206 and want to at least get back to where I was before I put on the extra weight in the last few months. When I get lower than that I'll really feel like I'm getting somewhere. I also chose it because I think it is realistically attainable before the end of the year - I don't want to finish the year weighing more than I did at the start of it! > Are you doing anything special yet or still browsing around for something > you can live with? Nothing special. One of the only things I haven't tried is slimfast, which I'm thinking about doing for a week, starting tomorrow. I figure it's at least worth a go! Guest guest
Dear GTS, You asked how I got all the whiplashes? Well, three before I was eighteen. One was work related, one at school, one car. Fell on my head off of a pool deck, (Klutz:) Several car wrecks after that. When I blacked out driving, I received my head injury and whiplash and more. I think I have had my quota, don't you? smile Blessings, nah [Yes, eight whiplashes is certainly more than your quota! I think that might be a world record! Glad you're still with us. -gts]
Guest guest
Hello Myream, Congrats to you for begining again. I have a total gym, I haven't used it lately, but I think it will be fine for BFL. There are also exercises you can do that don't require wts (at least to begin with). Push ups, squats, lunges, crunches, back extensions, etc. Be sure to mix it up occasionally to keep your body guessing. Go girl, Becky > My name is Myream. Guest guest
Welcome to BFL! You're gonna love how you feel after working out. You may be tired the first few weeks. Get good sleep and plan, plan, plan. It's easy to drop out if you don't plan for those meals. I'm 5'2, 170 lbs, so I feel your pain! haha I had gotten up to a size 17/18 jeans and decided enough is enough. I was as big around as my stove! I'm now in a snug 14 but still working on it. Post often, we love to hear how people are doing. debra > My name is Myream. I joined this group in January and was supposed > to start my first challange on Jan. 6 2003.
