Guest guest
Hi, I had the Heller Myotomy with Dor Fundoplication surgery on Aug. 22. For those of you who need this surgery, during my research, I found that the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic specialize this disease. You may want to check out doctors in your area who had the training for this procedure. I'm still healing but, I have no pain. Spasms come and go but not too much. I had more spasms in the hospital after the surgery than I do at home. I feel Great! Before, my surgery, I was misearable! I had pain in my chest, unable to swallow, enourmous amount of saliva when I tried to swallow and regurgitation. It affected me not only physically (lost 30 Lbs., currently 115 Lbs.) it also affected me mentally and emotionally. I stayed in the hospital longer than expected. My doctor wanted to make sure I healed properly. I had to take another Barrium Swallow test before I could eat. It went very well. I'm home now, healing and walking alot which is what they instructed. Going to my Doctor's office next week to see if he's going to take off the steri stripes off my stitches.
