Guest guest
I'm not knocking the Cleveland clinic, but there are plenty good surgeons in the UK, as there are many achalasia patients who have benefited greatly from their skills. You might also consider that with followups, it might be better to use a UK surgeon. Quite a few people from the UK have had the surgery and are doing quite well. Guest guest
Hi Anil He does a stomach rap which prevents reflux and it has certainly worked with me. I have various other spasm problems but 5 years on the Myotomy is working well. I am so glad you know him from working with him. He is respected by collegues and patients alike which is brilliant. I certainly trust him and he hasn't let me down yet. I really hope things go well. I have just been in the Upper GI ward at the Churchill and the care I received was second to none. love Kay xx > > > > > > My daughter 25 has recently been diagnosed with achalasia. It started 6 1/2 months ago with not being able to swallow and then I went in for endoscopy and the regurgitation started. I have been a patient at Aurora med in kenosha, Wi for a very long time and they referred me to Froedert Medical College of Wis in Milwaukee. I just had the graded pneumatic dilation and that helped and I am able to eat and drink again, within some limits of course. Just curious if there is anyone being treated at Froedert and just real interested to hear other experiences with this wonderful disease. Thanks for listening Kim
Guest guest
I was treated at Froedert for Achalasia. My surgeon is no longer there, but Dr. Massey in the GI department is apparently regarded as the number 1 guy in the state. I found this out after I moved, and my new GI doctor told me he refers all dilitations over 20 cm to him. mike in WI ________________________________ From: Kim <xploring37@...> achalasia Sent: Monday, November 21, 2011 11:40 AM Subject: Achalasia  Hi everyone, I am new to this discussion group as well as Achalasia. Guest guest
Hi everyone, My mother is really into treating whatever you can homeopathically. Has anyone ever tried this? http://www.lasnofax.com/
Guest guest
Alas, the scams for " cures " for orphan diseases grows faster than one can keep ahead of them. . . . http://www.ozscam.com/2011/10/12/lasnofax-com-treatment-for-achalasia-scam/ http://achalasia.net/forumv3/viewtopic.php?f=3 & t=478 There's no doubt that homeopathy works for a certain percent of patients. My guess would be about the same percent as the placebo in double blind studies. . .. . http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/all-about-addiction/201101/even-when-you-kno\ w-its-fake-the-strength-the-placebo-effect The worst thing about what these doods do is that sooner or later they're gonna kill someone who's clinging to their promises and delaying treatment that they're afraid of. . . . xox > > Hi everyone, > > My mother is really into treating whatever you can homeopathically. There is also a blogger, called, " One Sick Mother, " who has written much more than I have about these sites. The lasnofax is a product from Healing Plants Ltd.. According to her they offer other products often with the same ingredients for other conditions. Here is a quote from her blog: " Again, we also see that the same formulations of herbs are re-used several times to treat vastly different conditions. According to these guys, Uveitis, Keratosis Pilaris, Abdominal Adhesions, Achlasia, Peyronie's Disease, and Myasthenia Gravis can all be treated with " clear improvement within days " by taking their special formulation, which is a mixture of: ... " If you want to read more see: http://onesickmother.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/08/healing-plants-ltd-scam.html As to the possibility of these products actually being true homeopathic products I see little chance. A lot of people use the term homeopathic to mean all kinds of things but it actually has a very specific meaning. Homeopathy has two main beliefs, that things become stronger by diluting them (contrary to science) and you treat symptoms with things that cause those symptoms (homeo=like, pathy=disease). I don't see that product fitting any of that. notan
