Guest guest
Hi fellow Achalasians. My name is Sam and I'm 29. I live in Eastleigh, Hampshire with my Husband and 3 boys 11, Jake 9 and Olly 7. I was diagnosed with Achalasiain in May 2011 after suffering for 18 mths and many many tests. Originally I was diagnosed with a hetitas hernia, then reflux, then they thought it was anxiety attacks but nothing could explain not being able to keep solids down. After a barium swallow which showed no movement on the barium into my stomach they finally admitted there was a problem. I cried with relief as I was starting to feel like I was going mad. Next came a mamotry which confirmed Achalasia. I have lost 33lbs and am currently living on liquids. I have had a balloon dilation which only helped for 3 sms. So now am awaiting a heller myotomy with partial Fundoplication in 9 days. I am getting nervous now but having read all of your helpful posts and reasured. I'm so glad to have found this web site as it is lovely to be able to communicate with others suffering the same as me. Well that's about all for now.
