Guest guest
Hi all, I am 8 weeks post HM with Dr. Luketich and just wanted to give an update that I can eat/drink pretty much anything now, and it's great. I can even do coffee if I drink with food. That has been the best part. I tried coffee 4 weeks after surgery and it resulted in spasms. No spasms since then, just a little heartburn that was very manageable. Way better! I do have to wash it all down with water periodically, but I can take big bites and eat quickly like I used to. It's funny, it seems that the spasms come on a lot slower than they used to. It's more of a dull ache than a sharp shooting pain. I can get rid of it pretty quickly with a mint or some water. I do have one question. When I drink coffee, sometimes, about an hour later, it feels like there is an egg in the back of my throat. However i can still swallow fine. Just a weird feeling. I haven't noticed that with green tea or other caffeine drinks. Everything works great, though, so I'm not complaining. I never had that feeling before surgery. Or if I did, I never noticed it. Has anyone else had that? Thanks and take care! SHannon
