Has anyone else had any experience with Dr. Katz? I have also heard Dr. Falk

at University of Pennsylvania (came from Cleveland Clinic) is experienced

with Achalasia.

Would love a response from others from the Philadelphia area. Thanks alot!!

Because I am in Philadelphia and Dr. Richter no longer is, I googled " Dr Katz

Einstein " . It's pretty impresive, what I found. There can be no doubt that he's

a top tier GI specialist. I intend to try to make an appointment with him myself

for routine followup.

He actually saw me back in late 2004 and early 2005. At the time I was end

stage, and had a very sigmoid esophagus.

It was his opinion that I would eventually need an ‘ectomy, and from there I

saw two surgeons in 2006 and had my ‘ectomy in March 2007 by Dr. Rice at

Cleveland Clinic.

All that being said, considering how bad things were with my esophagus, Dr. Katz

was very good. There was one time that he was actually unable to do it, but that

was not for lack of trying, but a mere effect of how severe my achalasia was.

His team is very good, including his manometry guy (whose name escapes me at the

moment). I would highly recommend him, unless you are able to get to the

Cleveland Clinic and see Dr. Rice and his crew.
