Actually pregnancy makes the reflux worse as the gastric emptying is prolonged

so the food stays in stomach for a long time and hence makes these patients more

prone to aspiration

That's interesting - I didn't realize there were multiple types of wraps.

I

got my Heller myotomy with Nissen wrap in 2005. Since then, I don't have any

issues with severe dysphagia, but I have to drink a lot of water to move the

bolus into my stomach, and I do have minor dysphagia that leads to

aspiration while I'm asleep. It's been more pronounced since my pregnancy

and I've been wondering if I'm having actual reflux and if my Nissen wrap

has loosened.

I'm well aware of that, but I haven't been pregnant for a year now and I'm

still getting reflux and occasional aspiration, which NEVER used to happen.

So something is going on that wasn't before, I'm just not sure what.
