The more I read about other people's spasms I have started to realize that

mine have changed over the last several months. It used to start as a kind

of pain in the back of the throat that progressed to pain in the jaw and

ears. Then it had become an intense muscle spasm in my right side which

radiates into the jaw and ears. The pain in the ears is an intense burning

sensation. These result in nausea if not treated immediately. For the last

few days I have had a constant twinge and tight feeling in my back on the

right side. It feels if the slightest movement will result in spasms. I am

being awakened several times a night by the pain radiating into the jaw. I

drink slightly warm water and then it stops but within an hour it starts

back up again. I do have arthritis of my shoulder and neck on the right side

and don't know if the spasms are making those muscles more tender feeling or

not. I do sleep with my head elevated by a couple of big pillows.

Has anyone else noticed a similar pattern with spasms increasing in severity

over the course of the disease.

For me cold soda causes pain in the chest. I feel like a giant air bubble is

trapped. If I drink warm soda it isn't as bad.

Over the past several months, I have found that it is difficult to take a

deep breath without feeling like a coughing fit will result. I also have a

heavy feeling in my chest similar to what you get with a chest cold but

without all the cold symptoms. I do have seasonal allergies but don't know

if that is the cause.

Has anyone else had this problem?
