I don't know specifically to a lap surgery, but I had two " knots " in my belly

from my c-section and was told that it was scar tissue that could either settle

down or remain for a long while.  Mine actually has totally disappeared, just

shy of 3 months post surgery.  If it's at the end, then I'd suggest maybe

that's what it is, but I'd certainly check with your surgeon.  Maybe someone

else here has some experience with the same situation with a lap surgery.

Subject: Knot under incision

Hey guys...I'm about a month post surgery now. Swelling has gone down, but my

top left incision still feels like it has a knot underneath the skin. If I lie

on my side, it pokes out a bit more. I should have a follow-up soon, but I was

just wondering if anyone else had anything similar. It seems too long ago to be

caused by swelling.

I had a knot under one of my incisions.  I called my doctor's office, and they

told me it was nothing to worry about.  Same answer when I went in for a

followup.

My doc told me it was from a stitch under the skin and to not worry about it

unless it got bigger.

I had the same experience. Four were flat and one stayed rounder. My surgeon

said that was the one that went through the muscle wall while others mostly only

went thru skin.

I had one of those. It took a long time to go away. Can't hurt to ask

about it when you see your doctor. If it is a problem I would be sure to

tell about it. Just because they were not a problem to others does not

mean there isn't something (though there may not be) to help you.

I didn't have a knot with my laparoscopic myotomy but I had major emergency

surgery in June of this year and developed the same kind of knot under my

laparotomy incision. It was quite hard and felt about the size of an egg. I went

to the surgeon and he told me it was very common after surgery that it could be

scar tissue or possibly some fluid build-up. Mine turned out to be fluid which a

few days later leaked like crazy from my incision. I just kept it covered and

clean and in about a week it cleared up. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

You could have an incisional hernia. I have had this when i had the ectomy done.

The surgeon had to excise the lumpy tissue out or the wound would not have

healed properly. Get your looked at just in case it is an incisional hernia as

it is not unknown to happen.

Ok, still going to ask my doc about it, but that makes me feel much better.

Chances are, it's probably not a hernia...that's what I'd been worried about.

Keeping my fingers crossed! :)
