Hi everyone

I am now experiencing severe tightness of the sphincter muscle in the upper end

of my oesophagus (in the throat). Had a dilatation of it last week which hasn't

helped so back to my consultant next week to see what else I can do. Apparently

this isn't part of achalasia but an overlapping condition which I need to find

out more about when I see him. Any info from anyone on here gratefully received

though as always.

Really interested in all the comments about carbonated drinks. I always find a

warm drink (either hot water or peppermint tea etc) helps me most when I am

trying to eat but I notice several of you are talking about carbonated drinks

really helping. I have found that really cold drinks cause my gullet to really

constrict so are you drinking them at room temperature?

thanks as always and love to you all.

Kay
