Feeling Gassy

Hey guys.

Just thought I'd update you on how I'm doing. I'm 4 days post-op and feeling

much better now that I can move onto pureed food.

My incision area is still sore for sure, but I haven't really needed the pain

meds for a few days now. Mostly I've been holding off because of the whole

constipation and nausea issues, and it payed off. I celebrated my first bowel

movement today! Who knew I'd be so excited to well, poop.

I am still, however, feeling pretty bloated and gassy under my incision area,

and I know they had to fill me up with gas during the myotomy, but I was just

wondering if you guys know when this feeling goes away. It's not the most

comfortable feeling.

I am feeling much stronger though. I actually really recommend the Rich

Chocolate flavored Boost protein shake. I think I might continue drinking it

even after I can eat anything I want because it's really tasty and good for me.

Onto some carrot puree!

Chelsea,

So glad to hear you are doing great. The gassy(ness) will eventually work

itself out of your body. Light movement like walking will help pass it. I would

say give yourself 2 weeks to work your system out. Bowel movements may or may

not take longer to work themselves out. i think that depends on the person. Keep

us posted on your progress!!

Hi Chelsea

I totally agree with Carla, it gradually passes out and you should feel more

comfortable soon. I remember it well! Take care and I hope things continue to

improve. Kay xx
