Guest guest
who was Taneias surgeon? have you contacted them about this pain? if it's adhesions - can they treat them? It just breaks my heart - especially with a young girl like that. I did acupuncture about 10 years ago and felt it helped alot. It didn't 'cure' anything obviously but I did about 10 sessions in the 2 months leading up to getting married (STRESS!!) and I was able to get through the whole wedding week craziness with no spasms. Be careful who you find - I was lucky to find an MD who also did acupuncture and when I said achalasia - actually had heard of it. The amitryptaline may help also but it may take a few weeks for it to really kick in. Even though I've had an ectomy and no longer get spasms - I still take amitryptaline because I am firmly convinced that I have a genetic predisposition to lowered levels of seratonin- everyone in my family has some kind of GI issues, weight issues and mild depression - all associated with reduced levels of amitryptaline. My mother was diagnosed with mild depression due to reduced seratonin levels back in the 80's and has stayed on a maintenance level anti-depressant ever since and my sister was recently diagnosed with mild depression also - same thing. The SRRI drugs seem to make a huge difference for many of us - hopefully it will help her also. I'm so glad you found us and please let us know who she is doing. ~ in NC
