Guest guest
Yes, that is what they told us. It doesn't really bother us bcoz we do not drink any soda. More of juices and water... Just to let all of you know that my daughter is finally home after her myotomy surgery. She is doing excellent except last night at the hospital she got scared bcoz of a mild spasm but other than that she is OK... She is not happy that she is still on clear liquid for a week then liquid until she sees her doc until they say OK for mushy food.. ________________________________ From: Ann Higgs <lilac_blossom_lady@...> achalasia Sent: Fri, March 4, 2011 7:16:39 AM Subject: Re: Re: AspirationPneumonia  I was also advised to avoid fizzy drinks for a year after surgery. I was told that the carbonation puts pressure on the surgery site. Guest guest
Tell her to stick rigidly to the diet that the docs have given her. It is imperative. When i had my myotomy back in 2003 i was so hungry afterwards that i didn't listen to the docs advice and went onto solids too soon and lo and behold i had a stricture almost straight away and within a year had to have the esophagectomy in 2004. the docs tell you to stick to a liquid diet for a good reason. Does she want to end up having the ectomy because she has the bad spasms and cannot swallow again? from the UK From: fe busse <bil45ohb@...> achalasia Sent: Friday, March 4, 2011 6:40 PM Subject: Re: Re: AspirationPneumonia  Yes, that is what they told us.
