Guest guest
is an ectomy severe - yes! is it a very reasonable option for someone your age - yes! I had A from the age of 12 and had an ectomy 3 1/2 years ago at age 39 and my life is so much better than before I want to do a happy dance everytime I think about it!! I have had NO SPASMS!! I can eat a much greater variety of things - still a few that don't work so well but let's see - this morning I had a banana, 1/2 a peanut butter sandwich on 12 grain bread (I'll eat the other 1/2 in about an hour) and I'm having a cup of coffee. For lunch today I'm having some leftover grilled sausage with peppers and cheese and some sauteed squash and tonight I'm hanging with some friends at a beach house, we're going to have some shrimp, cheese and crackers, raw veggies and appetizer stuff for dinner and SEVERAL glasses of wine!! Life is good. the first 6 months or so kind of suck - but as your body adjusts to your new normal - it gets better and better. Check past posts from Isabella, in WV, and from NY - all in their 30's when they had their ectomies and all doing great - there's a whole herd more and some of them should chime in too. The best thing is that we are here for you and can help you get through it all. We're here to help and we 'get it' Keep us posted and ask away!! I'm on the other coast but you can also feel free to call me anytime - 252-256-3843 - just leave a message because I don't answer calls I don't recognize. ~ in NC achalasia free since jan. 2008
