Guest guest
Hi, Notan, and Fellow Achalasians, It's a good thing my A. is not acting up because I now have no more health insurance. The last day of March was my last day. My group plan with Cigna has now moved up to $32,000.00 a year and they only take quarterly installments at $8000.00 each, and I don't have it any longer. I've been scouting other plans but then, I lost my best, most recent job, an author tour of Japan for March and April and a bit of May. So, I'm essentially out of work and looking all the time. My daughter lives in San Francisco and she recommended moving there and getting the " Healthy San Francisco " insurance. I looked it up on-line and I've got to say I am impressed. I wish we had something like that in Los Angeles. In the meantime, I wanted to mention the Freelancers' Union here: they are based in New York but they are expanding to all the states and I interviewed with them about a week ago on the subject of health insurance for freelancers. The Interviewer told me that they are very interested in improving this area for those of us who do live as freelancers and if you check them out on the Net, you might be able to find some help in various areas. All best, Deborah
