Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Hope all are doing great. What a great forum it has been ... people can share their experiences and we all can learn something from here. Just have a confusion regarding the spasms which i guess A patients experience regularly. What could be the possible reason of the spasm - Empty stomach? I discussed with the doctor and he was of the view the 'spasms indicate that the problem exists and we would have to do the dilatation again in 2-3 months'. My understanding has been differenet ... i thought, and also by learning through others' experiences, spasms are something very regular to A patients irrespective of the patients' condition. I mean, patients can experience spasms right after the first day of dilatation (when the barium test indicates the dilatation was successful) and similarly patients can experience spasms at the peak of the achalasia. I think i am making you confuse - to make it simple ... why do achalasia patients experience spasms? Thanks Hassaan
