It sounds like some of it might be out of date. I'm looking for a GI doc with lots of " A " experience in the bay area - San , UCSF, Stanford, Muir in Walnut Creek etc.. I don't need a surgeon for now, just want a follow-up visit for my son who had surgery a year ago and is still experiencing some problems with swallowing. Has anyone had any experience with Dr. Alfred Hurwitz, Dr. Kramer (San ), or anyone else in the area that they can recommend? It sounds like Dr. Lawrence Way at UCSF is great, but since he's a surgeon is probably not who I need right now. Thanks to all on this great list! Guest guest
Hi, I have just read your post and what a coinsidence! I too have had an oesophagectomy done in Liverpool back in October 2004 for Achalasia. I now have severe problems with GERD and may have a big Hiatal Hernia so I have been referred back to see the surgeon who did my ectomy. My question is, who did your surgery and at which hospital was it in Liverpool??? My surgery was done by a Thoracic Consultant Mr Page in what was then the CTC and is now The Liverpool Heart & Chest Hopital. I am interested on who did your surgery and where for curiosity more than anything at this point in time. from the UK ________________________________ From: McGrail <pdmcgrailp@...> achalasia Sent: Tue, January 18, 2011 8:13:25 PM Subject: Re: Up to Date Dr. Referrals - Bay Area  Hi Phyllis I have just been reading your post I live in Pleasanton but originally from Liverpool where I had my surgery in 2001 then moved here later on in 2001 had a lot of problems afterwards so went to GP and was referred to a GI Doctor in Valleycare his name is Dr Wolfe and I have only positive experience with him he is a good listener and gives options and actually talks to you not at you,I too had problems still with swallowing and at the moment with Dr Wolfes care feel the best I have felt in a long time I hope this helps and you find the right Dr if I can help in anyway please let me know this is a horrible thing for anybody to go through.                                      Kind Regards                                      From: phidgeit <pmarlino@...> Subject: Up to Date Dr. Referrals - Bay Area achalasia Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 11:44 AM  Hi, I've been looking around, read the Dr. Referral list.
