Guest guest Posted February 16, 2011 Report Share Posted February 16, 2011 I've had gobs of dilations pre and post myo and ectomy but I've never had one while awake and honestly - have no interest in even trying that. I understand your concerns about having to travel but have you looked at 'family lodging' near the hospital? I don't know if that's an option for you but when I go to see my surgeon, they have several family houses you can get rooms in fairly cheap and I always get one for a night or two since it's a long trip. They are located within just a few block of the hospital so the ride would be very short and then you could just go lay down and watch TV or something - spend the night and then go home the next day when you're over the anesthesia.
