the first one reminds me of the ABCDE diet introduced by bill phillips. his

suggestion was around 4000 calories for 2 weeks and then way down to 1800

calories for two weeks. the theory was that you would gain muscle and fat,

and then lose the fat. the problem was that people gained too much fat, and

never lost it. i think one problem was cutting so far back immediately

kicked your body into a starvation mode where it gave up muscle and hung on

to the fat.

a modification to this diet was written about at the t-mag.com web site.

you can read about it here:

http://www.testosterone.net/html/body_59abcde.html

1000 calories day for a week is way too low.

I got home from my robotic heller myotomy on Wednesday and I'm doing pretty

well. I was told to stick to a clear liquid diet for the first 3 days, and then

if I tolerate that I can move onto a full liquid diet for another 3. Technically

tomorrow is the day I can move on, but I'm already so sick of broth and clear

things. My boyfriend picked me up a few things that I can start tomorrow- like

boost and some pudding.

I don't want to put myself in jeopardy by advancing too early, but I was

wondering if you guys knew whether or not a few bites of pudding, just to feel

like I'm actually eating food, would hurt me or not.

I haven't taken any pain killers since last night because I think they were the

reason for my nausea and I'm doing fine, not feeling sick to my stomach since.

I'm still definitely sore, but the incisions are looking better each day.

I don't think I've ever been so excited to eat semi-solid food in my entire

life. I get to go back on June 16th for a follow-up and it's my understanding

that if things look okay, I'll get to start eating real food again. The days

can't pass fast enough.

FWIW, Dr. Patti insisted I eat soft foods before I even left the

hospital. This was just 24 hours after my myotomy.
