- where are you located? finding the best doctor is the first key - even

a dilation - when done by an experienced doctor - can work well (for longer than

a week anyway). Some people have tried natural supplements and various other

treatments but generally speaking, for people who are young and otherwise

healthy - the surgery is the best long term approach. You will never be exactly

normal but I could eat 90% of what I wanted 90% of the time for many years. You

cannot continue on without proper food or fluids!

Let us know where you live and we can help you find the best doctor - one who

can make a real difference in your life.

Glad you found us.

I live in Columbia, SC Somebody on this group told me about a DR at MUSC. My

dr (who is in Mt. Pleasant) is trying to get me in. I'm thinking because of the

holiday we are having a delay. I am up for going where ever the best place

is...I just need to make sure whatever I do will help. I have children and a

husband who need me to be the mother I need to be. I have lost 115 pounds now,

which is the only silver lining...I had the weight to lose...but I'm getting

close to not needing to lose any more. (it's a weird feeling, seeing old

friends who say " wow, you look so good! " and I feel like I'm cheating bc I

didn't diet to lose this weight...just starved and threw up) bittersweet!!

I am in Fremont California. I had surgery bout two years ago. It helped me

greatly but I have new symptoms I am worried about. I have had a lump or sore

in back of my throat for about 5 weeks now. If I exert my voice( like when I

laugh) it feels like the lump gets scratched and hurts... Pretty persistent!

Along with the usual reflux n now a hoarse throat... I'm worried about cancer!

Have u had any of these symptoms??

Thanks for ur response:)

will post it again. You are not far from Atlanta (driving distance). you can go

see Dr. Jennier Christi she is a GI well versed in Achalasia and she works in

conjunction with Dr. , the surgeon that performed Meuller's

Esophagectomy.

fly then there is an option in Atlanta.
