Guest guest
Leah, Yes they are doing PECS. In their usual manner I would never have known except I went in to see what they were doing with the kids--surprise visit!! At this point just at school but I would like to get it going at home. Yes it is the one through Pyramid--big push this year for this program. Essie is doing fine and holding her own against the boys. Likes dolls but would much rather play with the trucks! I'm off the a shower, CPR, and teachers conferences this afternoon. Take care. & Garry, parents of (10 ds), (9 ds/g-tube), JJ (6 ds/autism/celiac), (6 ds), and Esther (3 ds). Guest guest
There is a big push at school for PECS. I need to ask if they are using it also to Tim, who is in the same class. Tim is also non-verbal. Sam talks, jabbers ssssoooooo much I threaten to shove a sock in his mouth if he isn't quiet. Of couse he never is quite and I never get the sock! Essie will have speech, she is following in 's footsteps!!! Oh My God---we will never have quite in this house. Except when they are eating !! Of course I could ask that afterT im has his tonsels out next Wed. that he would suddenly start talking, I can wish can't I!! & Garry, parents of (10 ds), (9 ds/g-tube), JJ (6 ds/autism/celiac), (6 ds), and Esther (3 ds). Guest guest
I know exactly how you feel about not exactly feeling like the rest of the world. My husband and I have a great marriage and 3 really sick kids and we may look normal to everyone else but our lives are anything but normal. In fact, just a few nights ago after we called the police on our eldest, dealt with a worm crisis with our middle OCD-er and took our 6 month old to her cardiologist, my husband and I were laying in bed and I said, " Is there anyone else out there who lives like this? " We shrugged our shoulders and tried to get some sleep before the next day started. Our lives are anything but the usual. Are there actually people out there that are usual? Guest guest
Kathy, No we did not make the conference, maybe next time. We took the kids to an ARC get together (Saturday Morning out) at a park in Chico. Dropped the kids and pick them up 3 hours later. They had a blast although Sam's language has become a little " colorful " and got him in some hotwater. We went to Sears to look at freezers. We have a 13 sq ft chest but I want a 20 sq ft upright. It would be nice to find something without rearranging ever time. The salesman is going to call when it goes on sale. Then it was off to Costco. Picked up the kids, came home, left them in the van, unpacked the food. Only put away the refrig and freezer stuff. Then off to a birthday party with a Blue's Clues theme. Blue was the pinata, Esther thought it was for hugging not hitting. had made up GF cupcakes for my kids, EVERYONE loved them!!! Today Garry and I went to the commissary down at Beale AFB. We were concerned about getting in to the base. They had cement barrriers zig-zagged in front fof the gate. Many of the streets on base are blocked off. Commissary had few people in it. The bagger, a high school student, said it takes an extra hour to get to and from school. The bus is evacuated, searched, book bags are searched, and all ID cards checked. That means a hour late to school and an hour late home. Thought it was going to be a fast visit---I forgot the checkbook!!! But they take Master Charge---go figure. So I have about a months worth of groceries in the garage to unload in the morning!! Fun!!!! That was our weekend. Except we have been waiting for our oldest son, to call. We expect him to be shipped out any minute. & Garry, parents of (11 ds), (9 ds), JJ (7 ds/autism/celiac), (7 ds/ADHD/Celiac), and Esther (4 ds). Guest guest
I know what you mean about Municipal Power. We have it here in Ilion and it's SOOOO much cheaper than Niagara Mohawk which towns around us have. I hate to say it but I've never been to Glens Falls. Maybe that's because I'm not a race fan. That is where they hold one of the major races, isn't it? RE: Inancy Patti, Nice to meet you too. I am in a little town called Fort . Near Glens Falls. 1 hour above Albany. LOVE the area (Adirondacks to Albany). I used to live in Endicott. I worked as a teller for HSBC (Marine Midland Bank) while I was there. That was a nice place to live too. Endicott had REALLY CHEAP electricity . . . called municipal electric. Never heard of it 'till I moved there. Learned to love it fast! That is where I first started making soap. Took a course through BOCES . . . Kathy Brennan or something like that. I am glad to be meeting all of you too. Katy invited me to the list. Thanks again Katy! -----Original Message-----From: itspatti5@... Guest guest
Kathy, We have a rewinder that we use all the time. But doesn't always think to use it, and Garry is the worst. Plus we have to replace the rewinder more often, it really gets a work out here. & Garry, parents of (11 ds), (10 ds), JJ (8 ds/autism/celiac), (7 ds/ADHD/Celiac), and Esther (5 ds).
