Hi Shamira, I am not sure if it was part of her hospitalization to have a

dietitian or maybe a friend of ours was a dietitian tech and ask the dietitian

to visit us. But whatever it was, the dietitian, explained to my daugther what

she can eat a week after the surgery. The liquids she can take and then the

mushy foods and what she cannot eat. It was very helpful and now she has a guide

on what to buy when she goes grocery. She told her to avoid eating corn or

anything with skin, nuts or anything with seeds. Also avoid breads, cakes,

doughnut, cakes. It was very very helpful.

I will continue to pray for your daughter and  the rest of people with A. It is

a horrible disease and we pray for cure.. God bless.

I am glad your daughter is doing well. It is very interesting how different your

daughters discharge orders were from Tanieas. She was told she could eat what

ever she wanted. She wad only put on soft and mushy after the two week follow up

because she was having problems but she was told no pop for six weeks. We also

don't have a dietician was that suggested because of tha A?

Yes, that is what they told us. It doesn't really bother us bcoz we do not drink

any soda. More of juices and water... Just to let all of you know that my

daughter is finally home after her myotomy surgery. She is doing excellent

except last night at the hospital she got scared bcoz of a mild spasm but other

than that she is OK... She is not happy that she is still on clear liquid for a

week then liquid until she sees her doc until they say OK for mushy food..

I was also advised to avoid fizzy drinks for a year after surgery. I was told

that the carbonation puts pressure on the surgery site.
